Any team relying on Melo to be a significant contributor and who at times runs the offense through him for signficant stretches when he is on the court.....isn't going anywhere.
He's doing better than Mario and Tolliver. Thats whose place he took. I'm ok with him on our roster. I'm sure his role will change with CJ out for sure, but better than seeing the other 2 guys tripping themselves down the court.

Hes better than two guys not good enough to be in the league? That isnt exactly an high bar.

Melo is great....player/coach...our young guys can pick up a wealth of IQ from Melo and do...he's always in their ear...he invested in that new NBA tv channel with CJ and Dame and CP3 and a bunch of athletes....these guys are about so much more than just basketball...they all have a wine connection and Oregon is the place for wine ....Popovich has a winery here...I think we have gained alot from Melo signing with us....when he retires he may want a front office gig or assistant coaching gig. I watched his shooting routine tutorial on youtube today. Melo is a natural born teacher.

Yes but he’s not the only free agent available to sign this season. I love Melo but saying he replaced Hezonja to pump his value is a bad argument.
I'm not pumping up anything. Melo is playing the minutes and positions that Mario and Tolliver were playing on this roster. Rather have Melo.

Last year. This year, he's using a roster spot that potentially could have gone to someone else (no, I don't know who--I'm not privy to whom Portland had available to sign).

Making the league minimum. I don't know for sure, purely speculating, but I think I'll take Melo at the minimum over any other player out there making the same.

Maybe. He's a net negative, so it might have been worth leaving the spot open for a mid-season buyout.

Nah hes outta the league.
I just read he's with the NBA players delegation and met with the Pope in the Vatican on Jan 16th...he was on a 10 day with the Grizz and is still involved with the teams community organizations. The Grizz seem to like having him around even if he's not playing. You know you want him back Bones! admit it! Thanks for the correction...

My man is going to finish the season probably in 11th place all time. That’s cool, whether you like him or not!

Melo is great. Stotts needs to use him correctly and have him on the court with the right mix of teammates-

We need to cut him before he can overtake legends like Robertson and Olajuwon.

Nah, complete opposite. I love that he's climbing the ladder while wearing the pinwheel.

We're the only suckers still taken in by the Melo Experience these days. If we cut him, it'll be the end of his NBA career. Robertson and Olajuwon (and who knows how many others!) will be safe.

Don't we owe it to history? Where's Mario Hezonja?

I have no problem having Melo on our team... I just have a problem with him being coached by a guy like Stotts who openly says that regardless of what Melo does for our team on the court that he's earned the right to play because of his career. That's some of the craziest motherfucking nonsense I've ever heard.

Lets bring Clyde out of retirement and out of the broadcast booth to play over twenty-five minutes a game and have the green light the whole time he's in, I think his legacy has earned him that (and by Clyde I don't even necessarily mean Drexler we might want to do it with Walt Frazier).

Yeah, you look at that list and I would have liked to keep Wenyen and pick up Nunn if Miami would have given him up for draft considerations... which I'd still like to do because he still fits under the luxury apron and we have the roster spot for him.

There has got to be one more sucker out there. We can trade him starting Saturday!

I’d take Batum over him, but just because I’m a huge Nic fan.

I keep seeing people say that we have a roster spot for another player, but we have 15 players under contract. Blevins looks to be on a regular contract, not a 2-way (for some insane reason that smacks of nepotism). I know that the league changed the rule this season to allow 15 active players, but did they increase the number of roster spots?
