Well on the Knicks site the biggest hang up no one wants Anderson and his contract. That the Knicks and the 3rd team. Who ever the 3rd team is who ever there trying unload the Knicks or Houston don't want. There trying to a 4th team involve. To me this deal might not go thru at this time.

And nobody probably wants Meyers either.

So no one wants what Houston is offering and no one wants what the 3rd team is offering? Yeah, that is a problem

Like it or not Ryan Anderson is a needle mover for the Blazers. His style of play would fit right in. Maybe not much D but He would play very well with Nurkic.

If this becomes a 5 team trade - does it get another thread??

If it returns to simply a 3 team trade do we go back to the other thread? So confusing!

Desired Outcomes:
1) Trade and get the best player from the trade
2) Improve your team by trading players; fill a need or get future draft picks
3) Improve your financial situation/status; for us reducing salaries post-trade

I don't see trading Harkless and Leonard for Anderson as a good version of #2. It's break even or a net loss.
If we could include Leonard and Crabbe or Turner and receive back less than those two combined (thus lowering our finances), then we could enjoy the #3 outcome. Very few of the proposed trades in this or similar threads have achieved these goals for our team.

Better not to do it -than to make bad trade.

That is very much in line with what my Nets guy told me. No one wants Anderson. If they did, this deal would have been done a long time ago. The Knicks want Harkless but Portland doesn't really want to give him up unless they get something of value in return.

Send Mo and Leonard to Knicks and we'll take Melo. Dame should convince Melo to waive no trade to sign with us. Dame/CJ/Melo/Swanigan/Nurkic is a great team.

You mean when he's not injured right?

Jonathon Simmons just became an unrestricted FA today.

Zero idea if Neil is even interested in bringing him in, but I love his game and would certainly help offset moving a guy like Mo or Crabbe...

Even if we "lost" in this big trade, if it cleared enough room to sign him to a reasonable, longer-term deal, I'd consider that a win altogether...

If we could somehow get Gordon AND clear room to add him... slam dunk. That'd be a hell of a boost to our bench.

I don't buy it. If that's the case no one would be talking.

They are talking because they are trying to bring new teams into the equation.....but no one wants to take a bad contract back.

Portland will not be involved or it would already be done.

It's why I think morey will bite and eventually trade Gordon instead. He's not going to lose Melo. He's obsessed with "stars."

Why do we need him if we have the 19MM man? Isn't that redundant?

EDIT.... NVM...

Get rid of Crabbe and bring in another slasher!

The problem is that it looks like Olshey don't want him.
