Still, you trade 4 players and a pick for 2 players. I said it destroys the team because Evan Turner specifically is integral to this team moving forward and you're changing a lot of rotations. Having someone like him who could play with Dame/CJ collapse the defense and kick to them, Collins, or Nurk is a massive advantage. He can also play 3 positions and can play alongside both of them, one of them or neither of them.

Wait... I have the aggressive tone? I had an aggressive tone with you because of 1.) The way you responded to the Lin idea and 2.) The fact that you changed my trade as a way to make me seem ridiculous, and then after I told you that's not what I said, you did it again!

I've already voiced my disagreement on Turner, as last year he wasn't enough of a scoring threat to collapse the defense, as it's not hard for defenders to keep him in front because they don't have to pressure him, as he's extremely inefficient past 10 feet. He's also not someone you want playing PG. He can play 3 in theory, but can only play 2 effectively, and can only play SG effectively if he has a 3pt shooting SF and PF or C next to him (need 3 shooters on the court at all times). Lin could play two positions effectively at all times, as he's a better shooter and passer than Turner. He replicates what you value so much. We have a different opinion on those players, but don't come at me with "You just love DESTROYING the team". That's just stupid because anyone who knows me knows I want this team as much as anyone.

So don't be salty and play the victim card after you sent BS my way.

Unless you have that #1 pick (or #3), you have less than 50% chance of grabbing an all-star. If you draft after #3, your odds get pretty slim very quickly.

. I'd love for Paul to to take a 38%-60% chance of landing an all-star by simply taking on salary when our payroll is already fucked as it is.
 
If we get Ariza, I will remind old-timers of when I argued that he was better than Travis Outlaw. And then I might bring up the huge argument I got into when I said I'd prefer Kyle Lowery to Outlaw.

Those were the good ol' days. Haha

The only thing that's going to slow them down is injuries to key players, guys defecting for more money and/or father time. We ain't got nothing to do with it.
 
I was wondering how this thread had 30 pages with barely any updates, it's all because you guys went off on an off topic tangent.

I didn't complain about your tone once nor did I respond until you asked why I hadn't responded to that post. I moved on. Nor have I muted you. I really don't care. I have had enough of the Olive type days, not here for pissing matches. I don't need the last word.

And yes, you have an aggressive tone. Hell, I've probably read it at least 3 times in the last 2 days from other posters - note: not my opinion.

And yeah, that Jeremy Lin trade was stupid. You don't seem to have a problem calling other's ideas terrible, telling them they don't know basketball, etc. Pretty sure another poster or two had the same reaction. If I posted a CJ for Carmelo thread I'd get told it was a terrible and stupid trade, right? Some of your ideas, in isolation, are good and well thought out. But there is a butterfly effect in the NBA and when anyone tries to tell you otherwise, you get a certain 'post' tone.

You could also just be extremely defensive/passionate, really don't care - that's why I moved on.

I'm sure you aren't intentionally destroying the team, but just like BGD, you're doing it anyway.

Flipping out in game threads when down 10 pts in the first qtr is not passion..it's angst......Stotts sucks! blah, blah blah......I personally miss cheering for the team during games around here...the humor has left the building. Some folks just can't stop speechifying and probably rearrange the furniture in their mom's basement every 10 minutes or so in case it might look better...go figure....bones likes arguing about why he's arguing.....then demanding explanations for why you disagree with him. it's a spin cycle..

I think you're going too much off numbers if you're saying things like that.

Undoubtidly Bowen was helped defensively by Duncan, and Pop's system.
But Bowen, unlike Manu was in the league because he was a defensive stopper.
Manu was not.

I don't think we're going to resolve this and I wasn't really that interested in a long Ginobili debate. I simply disagree with you that Ginobili was a bad defender. We can agree to disagree.

Spurs team D has NEVER made Tony Parker look like a good defender.... If you don't break the string it's because you're a good defender.

Obi Wan Ginobili was an excellent defender. Revisionist history won't change that.
