Exactly. The only thing they could give up close to Harkless is Ariza, but Ariza is older, and on an expiring contract. They don't have draft picks either. No chance.

Harkless is a perfect fit for NYK. For all the reasons you stated as well as the fact that he's from their and he'd make a good Forward pairing with Kristaps.

They don't want your Eric Gordon, they have Courtney Lee on a 3-year contract and just signed Hardaway to be their starting SG. They really think that NYK will give them Melo for Anderson, and is trying to get Gordon instead. SMH. In reality, NYK doesn't want anything HOU has, so they're not dealing with them.

They bitch and bitch and bitch about the refs and flopping.... and yet they now have the two biggest floppers in the NBA. I despise them.

It amazes me that they're calling Lillard deluded.....

He talked to Melo..... in person..... these people have never been within 10 feet of Carmelo Anthony. They're going entirely off of second hand reports. Melo has never publicly said anything. None of this has come directly form his mouth. None of it. Not one word.
 
The beauty of this should it go down, or even the fact that it is a hot topic, is that Neil Olshey likely inserted himself as the 3rd "facilitating team" as a way of getting his package of players in front of the Knicks and putting the Blazers in the equation. Then he was reluctant about taking on Anderson which caused the deal to stall.

Or would he just be lucky.

Understand Nate, Lillard is one of the most hated people by Rockette fans... He accomplished this feat in less than a second.

I was just thinking that Olshey inserted himself into the negotiation by pretending to be willing to help facilitate a Melo deal to Houston, just to see if the Rockets had any chance. I think he was testing to see how much New York would want our assets like Harkless, while seeing how little they wanted Houston's assets (like Anderson). Once he knew that Houston couldn't trade for New York straight up, Olshey knew he could put the better package together. Now, all that's left is to get Carmelo to waive his NTC for us.

If Neil did this, it woulda been a genius move by him. A very shrewd move that I've been waiting to see from him for a long time.

Hmm.... that article doesn't paint what was said in the same light.

One journalist used his words in a way that I don't think he was saying them.

"Because obviously he makes us a better team. So obviously with that being out there and being a real possibility, I don’t see why I wouldn’t reach out to him and let him know the interest is mutual if he is interested in us."

It seemed like Dame was playing it close to the chest.

If you read the cuckfan's forums when it came out Portland wouldn't facilitate a trade for the Rockettes. They think very differently on NO if this is indeed what happened.
