The only pieces that Houston really has is Ariza/Gordon/Capela.

If they trade those pieces, they have zero bench. That team would be too old and not really talented enough to win anything, and Houston knows it. That's why they need us.
And zero center.

Thanks Nate! (I don't like dogging on it after just my first time there, but man, that place is a MESS. Posts all over the place, and numerous threads on the same topic.)

Thank you, Denny
Thank you, Sly
Thank you, all the other mods
It is very nice here.....

Reddit is a different animal. It is a great source of information.

The people who post there are usually quick to post the latest news, tweets, etc.

You will not find the same kind of substantive posts that you'll find here though.

I've only used Reddit for the nba streams (which are awesome). I'll check around the site more. Good info to know. Thx again...

Who would you guys rather get in these various trade rumors... Love or Anthony? I'd rather get Love.

Just kidding... I think Love but I'm not sure... I like that we can play anthony at the 3. If we get love and our rookies become good we'd have a logjam at the PF spot

Good. *Sigh of relief
Dodged this bullet, now see if we can trim the roster without getting a washed up has-been in return. Would be happy if we could somehow turn Aminu, Davis, maybe another forward, to bring a 3rd combo guard behind Dame and CJ

Was a notification on my phone from the ESPN app, but here's the most up to date link from RealGM: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/246960/Carmelo-Anthony-Wont-Waive-No-Trade-For-Blazers

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20106267/portland-trail-blazers-trying-sell-carmelo-anthony-team

Portland was one team that New York and Houston had hoped would facilitate a multiteam trade for Anthony, but league sources told Wojnarowski that the Trail Blazers only plan to participate in a deal for Anthony if he decides to expand his no-trade clause to include them.

That, however, is not an option for Anthony, sources said.

"Obviously, with that being out there and that being a real possibility, I don't see why I wouldn't reach out to him and let him know the interest is mutual, if he's interested in us," Lillard said, according to The Oregonian. "We had a conversation ... so he knew that it wasn't just the team -- but it was myself and CJ -- [that] would love to have him here."

McCollum, who posted a photo of Anthony in a Portland jersey on Instagram over the weekend, felt the Knicks star was "interested" in what the Trail Blazers duo had to say.

"Obviously, I feel like he wants to play with friends, with Banana Boat friends," McCollum said, according to The Oregonian. "I know he wants to play with [Chris Paul] and LeBron. Those are very good teams, very good options. But I feel like we're also a very good option."

Knicks president Steve Mills said earlier this week Anthony could remain with the team this season, despite acknowledging that the organization would continue to pursue a trade involving the 10-time All-Star.

Mills also said that the Knicks would not pursue a buyout of the remaining years on Anthony's contract.

Anthony, sources told ESPN's Ian Begley, said to friends as recently as earlier this week that he still expects to end up in Houston.

Yeah--I got the ESPN notification too, but it was just Begley parroting what Woj had said Monday. No way to know the timeline of Woj's sources' info vs Dame/CJ's attempts to sway him. This most recent report is neither new information nor in any way concrete.

gotcha, notification said Woj I thought. But it was at 530 in the morn when I saw it. Coulda misread.

Begley is pretty plugged in with MSG and their workings. Wouldn't dismiss his input altogether.

Normally I wouldn't, if he actually said that he'd received information directly from his own sources within the past day or two. But this isn't that, so I'm still waiting for new info.

F5, F5, F5...

Well it ate up some offseason down time and was probably a diverisionary tactic from the start.......I'd say Dame and CJ are building the Blazer brand slowly but surely...love Dame's shoutout to Nurk as a selling point....Melo doesn't get it...no problem, come trade deadline we'll have more options than we have now anyway...

I just hope these two don't get disenchanted.

Anthony Davis is my pipedream for the trade deadline.

It time to move on from Anthony and check out any other team that be willing to trade with or just stand pat. But if Houston calls see if we would help them to get Anthony you tell them I don't thank so. More likely Melo will be stuck with the Knicks this year.

Me too. And it's not even close. Love fits better with our offense, he's not a ball stopper, without looking at stats I'm pretty sure he's a better 3 point shooter, he plays marginally better defense (IMO), he's less likely to be a malcontent/more likely to embrace playing in Portland, I think he's less selfish, he's on a longer deal, he's younger, he's a good rebounder.....

Short of trading both Lillard and Nurkic, there's no package Portland can create to tempt New Orleans. And even that package probably wouldn't tempt them this far from his free agency.

The only way I could ever imagine them trading him was coming up on the last year of his contract, and he would have to pull a PG and tell them he wasn't going to re-sign. Davis doesn't strike me as the type to do that.

This is the era of the NBA super teams. Dame and CJ don't want to stand pat. They want to win now and you also have to keep your franchise players happy.

I can't believe that nut job is on the Rockets forum being the "voice" of the Blazers fans. Good Lord. Almost as bad as when you here a national report say,"Blazers Insider Jason Quick'!
