The title wasn't misleading, it was simply taking a portion of the title of the article.
 
I think any potential Cavs deal is off the table now that Irving wants to leave. Cavs will probably want to blow it up shortly and won't be giving up any good assets for Anthony, unless they can figure out a deal to send Irving there and get back Melo but that would very short term solution (maybe Ntilikina + Melo + pick for Irving + Shumpert?).

It's all about whether Rockets can get him or not. If the answer is no, then considering that New York seem to want Harkless and Melo seems to want out, he will probably at least consider it. That moment is still days or even weeks away though, in the meantime Houston will certainly be trying to figure out a deal to bring him there and pair him with Paul and Harden.
 
Consider this:
NY doesn't want Melo. But they also don't want crap in return. If I were them, I'd just order him to training camp and hope he doesn't come so they can not pay him for a while.

I really don't think he's going to consider going to Portland. He may be on the outs with the Knicks franchise but, from all accounts, he loves the city of New York. He'd probably prefer to go through the motions while living in New York and then perhaps opt out next off-season.

I made Bones a mod in name only since he's leading our forum 3 on 3 team in the Media Division of the Blazers 3 on 3 tourney. I felt we should have someone on staff on the team. Once the tourney is over he will lose those sweet sweet powers.
