Fact check that one. Danish defences held even into the 19th century. Now if you mean he repulsed Viking raids on Paris, sure....but they gave more than they got.

The only thing that beat the Vikings was the eventual spread of christianity and the formalization of the states of Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

Actually, I was talking about the 5th-6th Century and with NO disrespect to the Norse. MY Grandmother was Dutch/Norwegian......the only non-Canuck blood in my genetics.....

Yep, your actually correct (as usual), I was more or less trying to bust yer chops, and I meant the 8th to 9th Centuries, as Charlie died in 814, and did not really get far if at all, beyond Denmark........

Have you ever noticed, just how many people with French or Canadien French names are in fact related descendants of/to Charlemagne...?
