Trump prepares order dismantling the Education Department

President Trump is expected to issue an executive action as early as Thursday calling on Education Secretary Linda McMahon to "take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education," according to a draft of the action obtained by NPR.

U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon leaves the House Chamber after President Donald Trump's joint address to Congress on Tuesday.

The draft action instructs McMahon to act "to the maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law," an acknowledgement that the department and its signature responsibilities were created by Congress, are protected by statute and cannot legally be altered without congressional approval, which would almost certainly require 60 votes to overcome a Democratic filibuster.

News of the action was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

The order offers as justification for the department's closure that, "since its founding in 1979, the Department of Education has spent more than $1 trillion without producing virtually any improvement in student reading and mathematics scores."

Public schools especially in poor red states will close. The low incoming working class parents won't be able to afford to send their kids to private schools.

Public schools, especially those with low income families depend on federal grants to remain running. The repercussions of this will be devastating.

Millions of kids without a school. Hundreds of thousands of teachers could be out of jobs.

It's a matter of when, not if, this hits rock bottom and the revolt happens. At a certain point, it's going to hit everyone in a big way, and the only people still left fighting for rock bottom to go further down will be in a commune and preparing to drink kool-aid.

Half of me wonders if Trump even understands who he is pardoning or what he is actually doing with his executive orders or his ushering in of Project 2025. That he is just being told what to do, that it will fix the country and make people like him, while having his ego sated with that's a good boy gestures. Because when you listen to him speak, he doesn't sound like he knows piss from shit.

Then again maybe he knows and is just pretending otherwise.

This is how Saudi Arabian Wahhabism (far right extremist terrorists, mutilation of women and girls, etc) spread across the middle east.

There were no good alternatives for education, so people sent their kids to Saudi Arabian funded Wahhabi schools.
