Trump is suing ABC. George Stephanopoulos had Congresswoman Nancy Mace on his Sunday show. Mace is a Republican but she is also a rape survivor and argued that abortion ban should have rape exceptions. Stephanopoulos asked her how she, a rape survivor, could support Trump, who was found legally liable for rape. Mace repeatedly accused him of trying to shame her for having been raped. He clearly wasn't. Finally she said he had only been found civilly liable, not criminally. Oh!
Well...Trump is saying they defamed him because jury found him liable for sexual assault, not rape. E. Jean Carroll testified he had definitely forced his fingers into her vagina but wasn't sure if he had forced his penis into her. That was reason for finding although in law forcible penetration with anything is considered rape.
So his grounds for saying he was defamed is he is legally liable for sexual assault, not rape, because, incredibly, a woman couldn't tell if his penis was in her vagina!
If someone said Sammy the Bull Gravano committed 20 murders, could he sue for defamation because he only was convicted of 19?
