My wife and I used to grill chicken gizzards and livers which we would dip in a small bowl with plenty of salt on the bottom and sesame oil poured over the top. All this was washed down with a truly ice cold bottle of beer. We would do that about five or six times a year. Now, with my disability, I can no longer do the grilling like I used to and we eat that about once a year.

Oh hell yeah. Some neighbors called it The Blood Bucket. And when Nike was just starting out, they rented the space next door to the Pink Bucket (before they moved down to the west end of the Burnside Bridge. But that was back when they were still peddling Onitsuka Tigers). The Foster/Powell area was an interesting place to grow up in the ‘60’s. Not exactly seedy but you could certainly see it from there.......
I do remember Nike's very modest place next door.

I've been in the old Greyhound bus station many times when I was in the Army back in 1969. I had a job up at Ft. Lewis where I worked four days a week and had three days off. I used to ride Greyhound or sometimes Trailways back and forth to and from Portland. Had to walk up the hill beginning on College St. right past Mrs. Neuschin's to my parents' house near Council Crest in the dead of winter. I had ice all throughout my mustache on occasion.
