Difference is Walters knew how to interview. A viewer might not agree with positions of interviewee but she didn't just let them monologue for an hour.

Damage to Ukraine? So you want your fellow countrymen to continue to be sent to the slaughter for a lost cause? The sooner hostilities end the better it will be for Ukraine.

Man, this kind of comment and these kinds of sentiments are coming from such a weak mindset, why do you want to just roll over and give up and wave the white flag and not defend freedom and democracy all across the world? We need to stand with our partners in Ukraine, and defend democracy against a man man aggressor. We need to stand up and fight back against tyrants all over the world. Ronald Raegan must be rolling over in his grave seeing such weak and pathetic takes such as this. Have you ever heard of the Raegan doctrine?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reagan_Doctrine

Under the Reagan Doctrine, the United States provided overt and covert aid to anti-communistguerrillas and resistance movements in an effort to "roll back" Soviet-backed pro-communist governments in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The doctrine was designed to diminish Soviet influence in these regions as part of the administration's overall strategy to win the Cold War.

We need to update this doctrine and support our partners and stop being so weak and pathetic.

Interviewing someone is not "supporting them". And no "MAGA" is notthe ones infatuated with him. It's the left that continually spews out Russophobia BS.

Tucker Carlson had an agenda to make Putin look not so bad, and wanted him to fall into a careful crafted narrative to help Trump. It's well publicized that this was his goal. And yes, so many other MAGA useful idiots ARE supporting Putin. When did Republicans go from hating communist Russia and 'the evil empire' to being such weaklings not wanting to stand up to Putin? What is this freeble minded BS? Man this kind of comment and this take is just beyond pathetic and weak.

Like everything got better after we got rid of Mossdegh, Hussein yadda yadda yadda. And Vietnam was good...

We should have just surrendered after Pearl Harbor, clearly we need to just stick our tail between our legs and run away. What a sad weak take. I miss when Republicans like Raegan who were strong and wanted to project American strength, now Republicans are like Trump who are just a bunch of weak ass pussies who want to run away from the international stage with their tail between their legs, it's pathetic.

This is just unhinged dick swinging. This ridiculous posturing and misguided “patriotism” over contractors money laundering war between two corrupt countries is batshit crazy. Hundreds of thousands dead for nothing and you wanna throw more down the rathole while you cheerlead macho ideas from a safe distance.

Hundreds of thousands dead because they are defending themselves from an invasion...

Yes. It's horrible. Russia should stop.

The contested regions are Russian people who want to be part of Russia, have been attacked by the west for years, had a referendum and voted to join Russia. Take a hint. Now people from the west of Ukraine are being marched to their deaths to retain lands where the inhabitants dont even want to be a part of Ukraine. Your idea that people are standing up to defend themselves is misguided. Thousands fled the country to avoid the pointless war, any voluntary enlisted soldiers are long dead along with the conscripts of fighting age. Now people who are too old to fight are being sent to die in battle against their will. And at the end of the day Ukraine will lose all those lands anyway.

Do I really need to point out that we were attacked at Pearl Harbor? I could list you quite a few conflicts going on around the world, that you probably have never heard of, that we're not involved in. How do you suppose the US chooses which conflicts to get involved in?

You also seem to be assuming that I'm a republican. I actually hated the neocons and George Bush for getting involved in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's also a much different equation when you have skin in the game, which you do not. What if you were offered the change to pick up an AK-47 and fight in Myanmar? I'd bet anything you'd refuse.

Ridiculous Ukraine are the good guys and Russia is the bad guys because the TV told me so.

There is no logical basis to any of their justifications or how they parse between which conflicts matter and which ones don’t. These opinions are formed by mainstream pundits and special interests, then passed down to them through corporate media. It’s why the narratives are so homogeneous and anyone who deviates from them in any way is crucified as supporting “the enemy” instead of their inquiries being taken at face value.

Just like we wouldn't allow Texas to leave, Ukraine shouldn't be forced to give up their territory.

If those people want to leave they should leave.

None of that gives Russia the right to invade it's neighbors or indiscriminately kill civilians.

It's been a bit disheartening to see how easy it is to get most people to believe, support something. And they literally can't see how much they are talking and sounding like Fox News of the mid 2000s, regarding the war in Iraq.

Ukraine had been bombing that area for years, and they overwhelmingly want to join Russia, which is understandable. Why not respect the will of the governed? It would be much less costly and bloody.

Bullshit. Russia is attacking their neighbors and killing thousands of civilians. Ukraine is defending itself.

Very simple.

It seems simple if you don't really understand the conflict. You've gotten your understanding from propaganda.

In the frame of ten minutes you can research who are the biggest beneficiaries of the defense budget, then look at the sponsors of the largest news outlets and see they are the same.
People STILL won’t ask questions, yet will scoff at other countries’ ‘state run media’.

We're the only country whose ruling elite does not engage in propaganda. The TV told me that too.

You explaining things in an extremely rudimentary and over-simplified way doesnt mean they are actually simple.

There is no scenario that would make Russia right to invade and there is no scenario that would nake Ukraine wrong to defend it's territory or for the US to help them in that effort.

Ukraine has been bombing Russian invaders in Ukraine for years.

Just like they are doing now.

When you invade another country and kill civilians in order to take their land you are in the wrong.

This really is very simple.
Who said Russia is right? Certainly not me. The sum of all the parts of this is that this conflict has run it’s course and it’s time to negotiate.

The inhabitants of the east are Russian invaders? The ones who’ve been there for generations?
