That thread was started was just ridiculous. Both STephen A and Skip bayless said they would take Houston in the first clip and the second clip has Jeff van Gundy saying houston will win it all. To take other matters into account only 3 ESPN people picked us to win the series out of 18, and the thread title is "ESPN keep on saying we can not win.....I am sick of it....". I guess if there talking about the championship of course they will be an underdog to the top 3 west teams and the top 2 east teams but thats how it should be since Houston has a FAR worse D then those 5 top teams.

Let's be frank, I don't think who ever wins this series is winning the championship. No homer on either side there. :)

Agreed. Whoever wins the series gets destroyed by the Spurs in 5.

I completely disagree with this assessment of the matchup, Dame in every game had stellar numbers and Beverly did not. This is hype. All because of 2secs of posturing by Beverly that Dame shrugged off. Beverly was the loser in the guard matchup, not Lillard. In one game Chandler Parsons beat Nico, another Harden beat Mathews but Beverly never beat Lillard

We'll agree to disagree, but you are looking at the wrong things. First, Dame's shooting percentage is just 38% against Beverley, so while he's getting his numbers he's less efficient.

Second, Beverley harrasses Dame and slows the offense at the point of attack. That means we don't run our offense as we plan, which means more one-on-one by our guys.

Again, Beverley doesn't have to beat Lillard to be effective. He just has to take Dame out of his game a little bit. And so far, he's done just that.

Interesting stats. I read that the percentage was 38%. Perhaps I'm wrong. If he's shooting 52% and 50% from 3, and drove on him 17 times successfully, then I may have to reconsider my position.

I think the 38% is his shooting against the Rockets, but not necessarily Beverley. Supposedly he plays well when Bev is on him. It sure as hell doesn't seem like it.

Every team starts the playoffs 0-0 record wise. We can beat any playoff team if we play up to our potential. I'm not afraid of a Blazer Spurs matchup at all.

Blazers are undefeated in the 2014 playoffs. Go Blazers!

To date, Bev has got the best of Lillard. But Lillard is one of the most competitive guys in the Blazer locker room and I envision a Lillard locked into what he has to do this series. Lillard is a far better talent than Bev and he is going to figure out how to bring this out in the playoffs. Basically both players will have multiple days and games to study and plan for each other and I think Lillard comes out on top in that situation.

This notion is just silly...

His goal isn't to outplay him, it's to limit Dame as much as he can. He shot a lower percentage and he gummed up Dame's ability to run the point. Mission accomplished.

You're giving Bitcherly way too much credit. Dame will average 30+ this series and we will win in 6. Book it.

The lack of knowledge in that game thread is very disappointing. They've got guys who have no idea when the game actually is(dude is like "4 hours left!" Today)...Do the rockets always have that many bandwagoners or is it Howard fanboys following him to yet another team?

Nobody here in Houston is taking the Blazers seriously.
The fans, the media, and the announcers don't matter, of course.

I sure hope the Rockettes players are not taking the Blazers seriously. It would be nice to get a jump on them and get home court.
