Religion The world as we know it is about to end on Sept. 23rd

Interestingly, I went the other direction--also at 13--basically because the universe from nothing and abiogenesis hypotheses didn't make sense. And still don't.

So because mankind doesn't yet know the genesis of the universe you decided to believe in stories made by the science fiction writers of two thousand years ago?

Religion is just a creation of humanity born out of ignorance and imagination, and perpetuated by fear, hope and the desire for there to be justice in a world where there often isn't any.

There are so many religions, and they're often in direct conflict with each other. Yet if anyone knew all the answers then everyone would know all the answers. If some omniscient thing wanted a single species of life on a small rock in space to know the truth of the cosmos I don't think it'd pick out a few "special" people to tell everyone else. All it takes is a little rational thought, yet a lot of people can't - or won't - accept it due to the reasons I've listed.

And for those who claim it's not about the literal interpretations of scriptures but about being a good person and living a good life, well that's a load of crap. "It is the highly secularized countries that tend to fare the best in terms of crime rates, prosperity, equality, freedom, democracy, women's rights, human rights, educational attainment and life expectancy."

I'd argue that humanity and in fact the world would be much better off without religion.

I'm agnostic not atheist (because fuck if I know) but when it comes to man-made religion specifically I'm quite sure it's false.
Hope this didn't come across too confrontational, my two cents.

David Meade has moved back his prediction. The apocalypse will now be on October 15th, 2017...mark your calanders. Meade claims 1 billion people will be wiped from the Earth...the other 6 billion will be left behind...lot of atheists huh
