The Worst In The NBA?

This is a chance for Mr. Thorn to show his quality.

This team was in WORSE shape three years ago. And then they traded some beads for Vince Carter. That made them a playoff team, but now they are slipping again. In three years they never addressed the depth issue. They took a pile of crap, posted Vince Carter on it, and at heart it was still a pile of crap.

Right now, though, he should be able to get a king's ransom for Kidd if he plays his cards right. Every veteran superstar is calling his GM demanding that they acquire Kidd right now. It's not a fire sale--it's an auction. Unfortunately, there are no teams that have the rights to multiple draft picks this year--correction: there are a few, but the additional picks are all top-ten or lottery protected, so they are not nearly as valuable.

Not only do you get that cancer off the team, but you also fix the team's salary structure. And you get some pieces back that will be better than every player currently on the Nets' bench--and better than anyone in the frontcourt, starter or reserve.

To the Portland thing? Portland drafted Sam Bowie, and Thorn was the GM of Chicago at the time...and drafted MJ.

And to the Clippers thing...http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2001/s/2001/0626/1218994.html

The #2 overall pick turned out to be Tyson Chandler.

Thanks...i knew about the Sam Bowie thing but the Marbury one I had no idea. Looking at that draft, there was no eventual superstar big man, so I guess Thorn made out better with the way things turned out.
