Pending a medical. Details to follow......

Just saw that Zobrist has signed with the Cubs reuniting with his bunk buddy Maddon. Castro to the Yankees not happy about that the man seems to be a bit of a head case. Give the job to Refsyyder.

Cashman WTF is wrong with you. Since you're determined not to give the kids a chance anyway, package Gardner & Refsnyder for a starting pitcher. You moron.

Castro for Adam Warren and a player to be named later as per Ken Rosenthal.

Player to be named later is my all time favorite Brendan Ryan. Good riddance.......

...management is making it harder and harder for me to be passionate about this team moving forward.

I know Ron, don't be surprised if Warren becomes a very good starter for the Cubs.
...he was a good starter for the Yanx too...but the Yanx traded him away on another very questionable move just like the Murphy trade...in the meantime the Cubs improve themselves by replacing Castro with Zobrist.
...if the Yanx go through with trading Gardner it will mean that the Yanx have no starting position players who have come up through their own farm system...isn't this something they were supposed to get away from?

Scary isn't it. I was a big fan of Warren. I'm just happy that so far that idiot didn't give away any of the kids. Well not yet anyway...........

The smell of desperation coming out of the Trashcan, stinks of death,.... death to any hopes to ever see another Dynasty, not under Trashman's watch, and probably never under Hank's watch either...

here I thought Trashcan was going to stick with "The Plan", and let the Prospects prosper.....Ref is getting fkd, as is the Team; and so are Yank Fans......

I'm getting uncomfortably numb, seeing our asshole GM, flying blindfolded, not by the seat of his pants, cuz he lost his ass (same as his Brain) years ago....

If he lets go of Severino, Fans should call for Brainless head,
If he lets go of Bird, Fans should call for his nuts,
If he lets go of Judge, Fans should tar and feather; & hang him by the feet from the rafters.....

If Trashcan ever makes a move that makes sense, I'll keel over.....!

56M over the next 5 years for a player with 19 total games experience at 2B. Cashman is a fucking genius.

Doesn't say much for Castro when a team (Cubs) gives up on you to sign a player who's 10 years older for the same money.

Just saw video on Cashman "reasoning" this deal. He then goes on to high hat Warren on what a great this and that he was. My question would be given the qualities mentioned why trade such a fine individual. I liked Warren, the fans liked Warren so akin to Murph they trade him. Cashman you are one dumb SOB, you could have kept Warren, given Refsnyder a shot. Classic JO Cashman move.

Pretty much the way I see it also Michael. I really wanted to see what Refsnyder could have done with 3-400 ABs.

Haven't been here in a bit and wanted to see the take on this deal. How do you not see any positive in it? Warren was not going to get a fair shot here and they turned around and picked up a guy 1 year removed from multiple all star appearances. Young middle infielder with a good/great bat - improves possibly your weakest position. Reminds me of the Didi move. Now coming to a team with existing leaders and guys he can learn from (Arod, Beltran, etc.). Is it asking too much to forget about your hate for Cashman and actually see the value in this deal? It's there.

It's too late for Trashman, if he found Superman to play ball, I'd still despise the asshole.....

Trashman's office.

No issue calling out a good deal and strategy to improve this team. I don't like the Murphy deal and don't care for this one either. Prefer to have Refsnyder start at 2B. I'd be more inclined to have kept Murphy and move McCann next year.

Look if the strategy is to get younger and reduce payroll, fine use the kids we got until we shed CC, Tex, ARod and Beltran. Rather see a losing season with youthful promise than another WC exit.

Hey Bern hope all is well, Granted Starlin may be an upgrade & he is a decent young player, I have no problem with that, I just don't think the trade was necessary. I mean lets face it ANYTHING after Roberts/Drew & Ryan would be an upgrade & IMO Ackley/Refsnyder would have been enough. This team need a solid starter. That should have been the teams first priority.

... I don't see the value of trading Murphy for Hicks or trading Warren for Castro...and I think there's a reason why the Cubs lets Castro go.

... and forgive me if I have not partaken of the Gregorius kool-aide just yet. He's a middle of the pack SS. He managed to hit well in July and August but disappeared the rest of the year...he batted .295 in low leverage situations and .232 high leverage situations .167 with 2 out and RISP... simply put, he's nothing special.
... Castro is a horrible defender as a SS and just as bad in the very few games he's played at 2B...is he an offensive upgrade over Refsnyder?...maybe, be we'll never know. He's certainly not a power hitter so again, I don't see the value. He also ranked 18th among 20 qualifying second basemen in WAR last year, and 16th out of 20 qualifying shortstops.

...will either or both of these IFers become markedly better...I suppose we'll see...but I seriously doubt it.

...Castro and Gregorius are career .321 ,316 OBP respectively and sorry, but that's not gonna cut it.

What do you expect! One head case obtaining another
head case. LOL ( I am shaking my head )....................

Shedding CC, Tex, & A-Roid is like forever.............
thanks to the ineptitude of their infamous GM.
How do people still praise this clown?

Careful Cage, he has a relative on this board.

I heard Trashcan Man, likes young boys to do Tequila Shots on his belly button.....

Now that is one visceral, I can do without.....

The Yanx Prospects have to get a chance to play first, before they are demoted, or another player is obtained for their position. If your not gonna' play 'em, then obviously Trashman is going to trade them, I would not put it past the assclown.......bad for Ref., and here I thought "The Plan" was to utilize the best of the Farm, as aforementioned numerous times, and posts......

Ahhhh.....fresh air.
This has been described as a desperation move...? Lol...People may not like "the plan"...some can't or haven't noticed a pattern ("plan") since LAST offseason, and we even have some who call it "an ever changing plan".....it's been pointed out that the Yanks need to beef up in the RH hitting dept- so the Yanks traded a 24 yr old backup catcher who batted .271 with little power/155 AB with one of their better prospects (a 22 yr old catcher) knocking on the door for a 26 yr old (sound familiar?) outfielder/Hicks who batted .307 - well over 800 OPS vs LHP and they had a problem with THAT. This board, sadly, has quickly degenerated into not much more than a mindless blind anti-Cashman forum...stick around, see for yourself. It's hilarious -the ruling "majority" of 6-7 regulars...lmao.

Did I mention the 26 yr old outfielder has made just 3 errors with 22 assists/.995 fldg% in 242 games or so, and is making 550? Oh, J just did...sorry.

Makes no sense- dam Trashman! Lmao

...funny that you were jacking off Murphy last year and pontificating how the Yanx should give their kids a chance first...now suddenly he's become a throw away in a trade for Hicks...flip flop.

...and love the cherry picking on Hicks.............whoopty-fucking-do, he managed to hit .307 .375 .495 .870 in a whopping 101 ABs vs LHed pitching... why didn't you mention the other 251 ABs vs RHed pitching? ( .235 .302 .359 .661 ) ???....the answer is simple, it's because it brings his ENTIRE YEARS AVERAGE down to .256 .323 .398 .721 ...but you see that as "beefing up the RHed hitting dept"?

...classic, simply classic.
