It has nothing to do with being "good enough." It has everything to do with sin and evil in the world, and the things that man does to man. The Jews weren't massacred because they were bad--they were massacred because Hitler was bad.

And the fact that God doesn't always intervene is certainly not evidence that he doesn't exist. God didn't "save" me from being in a terrible car wreck years ago, and he didn't "save" me from breaking my arm when I was 7, either. Pain and suffering are part of life on earth, and always have been.
 
I think it's great that you are religious and i respect you for it, but i have no use for god in my life, and i guess i will burn if i am wrong, oh well.
 
So, does this incident get him a free pass when his class reads "Oedipus Rex"?

Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Hindus are saved, and a lot of "Christians" are not. I think salvation is a personal matter between you and God. Only God knows your heart, and I believe that the righteous can be found among all religions.

God almighty (self-proclaimed?) is supposedly the strongest force in the Universe yet he can't stop the "inhuman' things and/or the 'devil' himself.

"It's gods will", "it's all apart of gods master plan" is when the line between the devil and god fades.

Ponder that.

Of course we have control over what we do, but some of us (i.e. Hitler and Stalin and Ted Bundy and all the child molesters out there) make some pretty evil choices. What puts those kinds of evil thoughts into men's heads? Surely not God.

God is God, and he can do anything he wants. But his perfect world became corrupted by sin, and all the horrible events that we are discussing have followed from that. God never wanted it this way, but we have chosen sin over righteousness, and one thing follows another, just as natural consequences flow from all of our choices and actions.

Nope. I think we are living in a sinful world, and it corrupts everything. There is greed and lust and cruelty and all kinds of selfishness as a result of sin, and we all suffer because of it. We see sin all around us, and it becomes part of us if we let it.

I thought about becoming a Christian, but I decided to become a Jedi instead. The force is more powerful.... and they get light sabers.
