There IS a debate about the existence of God. However, there is none about the Jedi.

One could just as easily make an argument to the existence of "the force" as they could the Christian "God".

God is God, and he can do anything he wants. But his perfect world became corrupted by sin, and all the horrible events that we are discussing have followed from that. God never wanted it this way, but we have chosen sin over righteousness, and one thing follows another, just as natural consequences flow from all of our choices and actions.
