There is no Trump Mandate

I don't believe not voting is an option myself....I voted for a wider choice of candidates by not voting for the two major party candidates knowing I wouldn't win but could feel good about not voting against someone just to help someone I don't trust to win...Hillary lost because she sucked and didn't inspire the minority vote the way Obama did...and maybe, just maybe....it's not as easy to get elected in this country as a woman as people might think it is...Trump's groping women and locker room talk actually probably hit home with a bunch of white men who enjoy all that and felt he's their guy

Yes they do, I saw it on Facebook or the twitter or something. Jesus, I was joking.

More likely we'll kick them out.

99.9% of Californians don't wanna secede. That would be the Texans. And that's no joke.

Not a democracy, fine. Historically speaking, what do we call it when the minority get their way?

Btw, my argument is based in the fact that I'm not a democrat and live in California. I knew my vote was worthless and so I didn't vote. I'm sure there are many more who did the same thing.

A Republic.

If we were a Democracy, the majority could have voted to keep slavery, deny the vote, and so on.

If you look at the electoral map....the west coast is at odds with the Midwest and South

"In 1970, California had the 7th most educated work force of the 50 states in terms of the share of its workers who had completed high school. By 2008 it ranked 50th, making it the least educated state. (Table 1a)"

We're a democratic republic. Only inalienable rights in the constitution are protected by the majority and the government they elect. Both a democracy and a republic elect government. So having the minority of voters elect a government in which the majority of people don't want is a joke.

A democratic republic. We vote for representatives who vote on our behalf on most things. Including for the president. The EC electors are who we elect.

California's interests are not the interests of Louisiana.

Or Ohio. Or North Carolina. Or Wisconsin. There's a reason why we have the electoral college, and the only people who seem to bitch about it are Democrats when they lose the popular vote.

Why do all the electors have to be the same within a state? The interests of many in California are not the interest of many in California.

Yep. Actually, California accounts for the entire Trump Popular vote deficit about 3 times over. New York also accounts more than the total US difference.

more people voted for her, jeesh, we get it.

Sign of things to come?

I guess it won't be Trump's money, so maybe he'll start paying people?

Love you too, sweet pea.

There's a reason why we have the electoral college,

IS there? Is a good one? Does it REALLY apply to the 21st fucking century?

and the only people who seem to bitch about it are Democrats when they lose the popular vote.
Because if it happened to Republicans, they'd accept it with the grace and equanimity that has become their brand.

How the states distribute their electors is their business.

Maine and Oklahoma split their electors by districts. But it still isn't by popular vote. It's an EC within the EC.

Sure you do. The real question, Why?

What does "natives only share" mean? Like native Americans??

And dude. Trump cleaned up with the uneducated. So guess where most of those dropout votes went...

Check the vote tally in CA.

I am aware that Hillary got more votes than he did. That they were all uneducated is a stretch considering that's trumps wheelhouse.

It's your chart, do you know what the "native" part is referring to? No?

"native" part is referring to?

Native Californians. Which there are very few. So I think it, non immigrant (from out side the US) Californians that are Citizens. Probably a poor choice of terms, but Californians often use the term.

Check out the same data against other blue states in the west. They more than just vote, they influence the population in several ways.
