It is more than a little strange to me, that young men seek to enter
the institution sanctified by the church that they shun. The same institution

You are missing quotations around Gay, Bright and Cheery, Marry, Gay, Shacked up, etc. It would read easier with them.

The meaning of words change with time. If not, the English language would have huge words to describe new events. Notice how know changed from having sex with someone to understanding?

It is more than just tax codes, it is rights and society respecting (even if they do not accept) the gay and lesbian community. I would have no problem with the church taking back the word marriage with the government having a standard "partnership" regardless of whether it is man/woman, woman/woman, man/man. They could keep their ceremony too if they choose.
