My $.02 is that we love having all the Nets posters here and how great they're making the Nets forum.

I don't think it's a matter of jealousy or anything that the moderators of the rest of the site feel that discussion of Elton Brand signing with the Sixers is a good topic for the Sixers and Clippers forums, and maybe our NBA General forum. The site has an organizational structure of forums and some of the mods feel that whole structure should be used in appropriate ways.

When I started S2, it was meant to be an all-sports site from the get-go. Taking an all basketball site and trying to make it an all-sports site after the fact is tough to do (see RealGM, for example). The off-season, especially between summer league and the start of training camp is typically slow for basketball sites and talk in general, and it is our hope that all the people who share time on S2 find they can make friends who are interested in the other sports and talk about the in-season sports (like Baseball).

S2 is supposed to be about the posters; the staff is supposed to be here to help you guys out and keep things from getting out of hand. Where and what you guys (and gals) decide to post is ultimately up to you. We feel right now that it's not a bad thing to reach out to the Nets fans and see if we can't get a good mix of people who are fans of all sports and all teams.

Again, it's up to you guys, and whatever you do, you will do.

Besides, you're all Red Sox fans, right?
