Disneyworld is essentially its own city. They have enough courts, hotel rooms, everything teams would need. But I still believe the nba would rather avoid the bubble idea unless it was their only option. I don’t think they’re at the stage now where it is.
 
Here’s an idea

play in tournament for the eighth seed in the west in a remote location.

then playoffs start in teams respective arenas, hopefully with a certain number of fans allowed in. By the time the playoffs start it’ll be the summer. Everything will likely (based on the way things are headed now) be open by then. The travel would essentially also be between two cities, so it’s not extensive and could be handled.
 
There’s no way I see the nba agreeing to have the playoffs with no fans unless the only other option is cancelation of the entire season.

in order for the nba to resume and complete just the regular season will require the playing of an average of 15 games by each team, or , around 225 games. with only one day off between games that's a month. what is a realistic date that will fans be allowed in arenas and an end to social distancing? a viable vaccine is at least several months if not years out. imho the new reality appears to be that fans access to games in arenas is way way out there in the future. not trying to bring anything like politics into thread.

Waiting around for a vaccine isn’t realistic, especially since it doesn’t guarantee immunity anyway...ie flu shots. The key is fast access to testing. Herd immunity is a good thing.

Korean baseball league is already considering allowing fans. MLB is planning with fans eventually being let in. No one is ruling it out. If you open restaurants, bars, malls, etc, there’s no reason not to allow fans into an arena. It’s inevitable it’ll happen in the near future, the only question is when.

Do we have any kind of word from Blazers what they plan to do on the 8th? Are they allowed to use the facility under current Oregon directives? If not, have they applied for an exception?
 
Bundesliga, one of the four major European soccer leagues, officially resumes their season next week. They started training about a month ago. The other European leagues are probably not far behind. Italian league has resumed training.

I've felt for a long time there's no chance the rest of the regular season happens. Too little benefit for the effort required--enough of the season has been played out that seedings and draft positions can be reasonably given out, like in a lockout/strike partial season.

Agreed. I think the only question is how many teams? A bunch of fans here are talking about play in games. I think it's more likely we see something such as only 8 teams in the playoffs.

Except the schedule has been incredibly imbalanced in Memphis' favor. Switch our schedule with Memphis' and we're ahead of them. A strike-shortened season balances its season through 66-games, or whatever. A normal season balances their schedule through 82. This schedule isn't built to end at 66 games.

Simple Fix: Play-in games.
 
If they don't give the Blazers a chance to make it in, I'd prefer they just cancel the season.
