saw someone on facebook suggest when they all come up, everyone's in Planet of the Ape outfits.

Has anyone else seen that tube they're being hoisted in? I'd almost prefer to stay down there. It's a sarcophagus attached to a cable.

They look so clean for being in a mine for so long. Was zoolander all a lie?

this is one of the most amazing things i've ever seen.

They were arguing who would be the last one out...as he would be the one holding the Guinness record for longest underground survivor.

I was happy for them, but I was pissed that KGW interrupted The Biggest Loser just to show a crane for like 10 minutes.

No they weren't. That was just a joke that was picked up and repeated by the mainstream media as fact. That honor was to go and did go to the man who became the group leader and was the one who rationed 2 days worth of food into 17 days.

None of them gave a chit about the world record and saying that they were arguing over something like a world record diminishes the strength, unity and bravery they all showed.

I thought the leader came out first, so he would be the one risking it in the first "live-test", as well as able to give the best account of what was going on below if something went wrong with the crane.

BTW, for the world record, I say it should be like in the Tour de France. Once the leader crosses the finish line, everyone that comes up in a continuous line gets the same time. Doesn't matter if you were strung out 40 seconds (or 40 hours) back, if it's an uninterrupted stream b/w you and the leader.

Heh, certainly the Chilean Health Minister is not to be trusted. ;) That said, not sure why they would be arguing about it if it involved honor.

I think it would be awesome if the shuttle used to take the miners out kept on making trips and every time a clown came out.

Was anyone else a little cheesed when they had that big celebration after the final miner came up? All I could think of was the six people who risked their lives to GO DOWN the tube to help the miners who had been trapped. I thought the least they could do was hold the celebration off until the six brave souls made it back safely.

As an aside, my hat is off to those guys who volunteered to go down to help the miners. Those guys have some sets of cojones.
