Things to do in LA by yourself

For a 2-3 iterinary this is what I would do. I'm assuming you have a car.

Day 1:
I'd try to use Uber/Lyft or the Bus for this as much as possible.

Go to Abbott Kinney Blvd in Venice for some coffee and to walk around a bit. They probably have food trucks.

Walk to the Venice Boardwalk. Check out the vendors, take pics. Maybe check out the "Venice Freak Show".

Walk along the Venice Boardwalk all the way to the Santa Monica Pier. Check out the Santa Monica Pier area. Hit up the 3rd Street Promenade.

Go drink somewhere in Santa Monica and/or Venice.

Day 2: Hit up the Farmer's Market/Grove. Eat lunch at a vendor at the Farmer's Market. Walk around the Grove real quick, take some pics.

Hit up the LaBrea Tar Pits Museum or any of the other museums on Museum Row.

Go to Korea Town and get some Korean BBQ (actually a little hard with only 1 person though since most have 2 person minimums). Alternative is to go to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, Street Tacos or some place you're craving.

Go to the stores on La Brea and 1st. There are a few nice streetware vendors and retro sports store (such as And-Still). Drive around up and down Beverly Blvd, 3rd Street, Hollywood, Sunset Strip, etc. No need to really stop though.

Day 3:
Hit up the South Bay. Manhattan or Hermosa Beach piers. Or both. Maybe rent a bike. Get breakfast at Uncle Bills Pancake House if its not too crowded.

If you're a foodie, I'd change it up a bit. Get some dope Ramen in Little Osaka region, maybe some farm to table shit or a Burger at Father's Office in Culver City (or Santa Monica too).

Great itinerary. I would add a few things:

Dodger game is a great idea.

Hollywood Blvd. near Mann's Chinese - fun to see the hand prints in cement, the Walk of Fame, and the kooks.

The Getty is incredible if you like art museums.

Eat Deli at Nate and Al's and cruise around Rodeo / Beverly Hills. This is also near The Grove and the Tar Pits.

You really have to have a car to do it right. Stay off of the santa Monica freeway and cruise up and down Olympic instead.

Yeah, Dodgers games are cool. Kind of a bitch to get there though with the traffic. But weather is beautiful.

I can't stand Hollywood Blvd, to me, its the worst of LA all in one. Just tourist hell. Some people may want the photo ops, its just too many damned tourists.

Nate and Al's is pretty good and campy. The food isn't the greatest, but its very campy. It is accessible, but I prefer Langer's (kinda ghetto though) or Canter's as far as Delis go. Rodeo Drive kind of blows. the only thing to really do is take a pic in front of Bijan's Yellow Bugatti.

If you're a fan of the movie "Swingers", you have to go to the Dresden Room in Los Feliz and see Marty and Elayne perform. They are classic LA and they are getting up there in years so who knows how much longer they'll be around.

If you're into cars, definitely go to the Peterson Automotive Museum. I went last week, its closing in October for a year to totally re-do it. They had dope car displays, the Vault was even better which I didn't go into, I think they had saddam husseins car.

Where is Petersons?

Where is Petersons?

Wilshire and FAIRFAX around the corner from LACMA. The remodel looks iconic.

Yeah, its right by Pershing Square. Kind of hidden, non-descript building, have to go up two elevators to the roof. They have jazz and shit up there. Really classy/upscale clientele and nice views.

I second the Farmer's Market. It's on Fairfax between 3rd and Beverly.

I also recommend Baby Blues if you like BBQ. There is one in West Hollywood and Venice. Also, if you want to check out Malibu, go to Dukes. Great view of the ocean. The best seafood though is at the Reel Inn.

On the subject of Malibu, try this: go to 22147 Pacific Coast Highway. It's where I used to live. Park in front of that building and walk across the street. There is a public access entrance to the beach right next to David Geffen's house. Geffen fought against it but he lost. No one knows about it though. The beach there is glorious. It's called Billionaire Beach. Walk down the beach and look at all the houses. They were building one right next to Geffen's when I lived there. I believe it now belongs to Pat Riley.

Yeah. Baby blues is probably my favorite restaurant in LA

If you're into Seafood, Quality Seafood at the Redondo Pier is dope as fuck. Lots of seafood, like 20 types of clams from all over the world, different crabs, fish, etc. They cook them for you there and you can eat them on the pier. really awesome atmosphere.

Thanks for all this great info, guys. But it seems I might be postponing my trip a few weeks. Airline allowing me to transfer funds to a time when the girl is free, so I won't go through it alone. smh

All the suggestions change now. :MARIS61:

(THEY ALL INVOLVE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES AT STARBUCKS)
