First there was Denny & that 300+ post thread where he basically stood alone arguing his point with everyone else until he FINALLY gave up & has not been heard from since.

Then yesterday there was rickyspiral standing alone arguing with everyone until he snapped took his ball & went home not to be heard from again.

Now today it was Brian, another one standing alone until he couldn't prove a point we asked him to prove & he left. where abouts or if he'll be back not yet determined.

Now I've no doubt that both Denny & Brian are nice guys that just gave up on topics that they weren't going to win. ricky, well, we'll just leave that one alone.

My point is that that's 3 posters that we may have lost. So what do we do going forward. Should we avoid any further controversial topics? Give up on any debates not Yankee related that goes longer then 20-30 posts? Or do we surrender to the head strong posters standing alone & just agree to disagree?

I know it may all sound like bullshit & I've never been a yes man to anyone. But I like this board & its not going to survive if posters keep dropping off.

Any suggestions?

...perma-banning me would be a good start.

After much thought, what the hell, we'll just let it go. We've been having debates on these type of forums for many years now & the boards have always survived. This one will also. Denny & Brian made the mistake of bringing a knife to a gunfight. There just comes a time in every debate where you realize its best to just drop it & walk away.

I think everybody should be able to eventually just agree to disagree and move on. Every argument doesn't have to be won.

I have no problem standing alone in discussions (check the 400-post one on the Blazer board from yesterday), but this isn't my board. You guys don't know me, and I don't know many of you. At the point insults start getting tossed and people getting heated, it's not worth me continuing. I like having another community of fans on the board (especially for baseball), and it's not worth jeopardizing that continuing a discussion that's getting otherwise normal posters worked up.

Seems reasonable. It's always smart to take a break so things don't go too far.

I second that

I told you it was on SVP show today, at about 1:20. I looked at other times he's been mic'd, and the full ones are usually available the Wednesday after. Like here. http://www.fieldgulls.com/on-the-ai...0920/richard-sherman-micd-up-for-vikings-game

If it comes out that there's more than "Good Game", I'll be back with hat in hand. Until then, as I said, I'll leave your board alone on this topic.

Brian forget the MORE then good game, we just want to hear him say "GOOD GAME" period. With all due respect I just don't get why you'd say that he said what he did with so much conviction & then not be able to back it up. Hey its all good though. Just going forward it may eliminate a lot of unnecessary nonsense if you only state things you could prove. Just looking out. Hope to see you back on the board more often.

...what the hell are you talking about now?...what does that link have to do with him being "miked up" during the play and while you claimed he only said "good game"...when you actually back up your claim "I'll be back with hat in hand".

...you've had hours to produce this fictitious recording and you've failed miserably...epic fail.

...yet you wonder why things get "heated".

ok, drop it... enough... one thread is enough... lol

So.........................how about those Yankees?

Bottom line...act like an adult. If you cant handle a debate with class and end it without running away then you are not an adult. Put on your big boy ( and girl) pants and realize its only a message board and don't take shit so personally.

lolz if u ever want to see what im talking about go look at the idiots in that forum over there that call richard sherman a gangsta and a thug. wonder if they would have said that if the dude was white? old tired ass racists at that place. i went over there to answer a private message and saw the thread about it. does the klan run sports2? another reason to thank u all for having me.

and then I said "nothing racist was said over there, sorry you got your panties in a wad though ricky" about 4 hours after he posted that to which he responded almost immediately with...

lolz ya sure nothing at all. dont follow me around klansman. stay on your white supremacy forum and complain about the blacks and gays.

So now I'm a klansman and we are on a white supremacy forum complaining about blacks and gays... NONE of which is true... but whatever...

...^^^ ***ricky's world*** ; saying someone behaved like a thug and a gangsta for 15 seconds = actually calling them a thug and gangsta.

I wouldn't sweat it Steve, Many of the posters on the reddit site know us from our days on the espn boards & know better. Besides I'm sure its only a matter of time before he has ANOTHER meltdown on that site.

My suggestion would be to know what you're getting into before jumping into a discussion (or atleast act like you know), because i see a lot of misunderstanding, which turns into wrongful judgement between users (and sometimes staff), which turns into a bash fest.
I personally try to avoid all threads that look like they will turn nasty simply because anyone who participates in it usually ends up wasting their time trying to prove a point that most people will not agree with, no matter how much you back it up with facts.

All in all, just dont act like a dumbass. ;)

^^^ can't disagree with that assessment, alex.

...actually, didn't he lump all of us into the same categories?

For someone to snap the way he did I can only assume that he had a lot more problems then just trying to make a point on a message board. And he did sound like another poster that was on the espn site some years back.

Alex, I agree... Who were you on the ESPN boards? I don't recognize your screen name... Sorry if someone else already asked
