pratell who?

I can't put my finger on it Steve but I remember a poster that if you disagreed with him to much he would just go off on a tantrum. Even 59 said something about his posting style being familiar.

...well, the constant use of "lolz" reminds me of youfail and cromag.

Alex, I agree... Who were you on the ESPN boards? I don't recognize your screen name... Sorry if someone else already asked
I never was on ESPN boards. :)

...not sure he ever posted there...he's been here since 2006.

Well, that's actually a long story. I registered here last week, and after applying and becoming a team member here at S2, i requested a name change (to Alex). However, the name 'Alex' was already being used by an account not used since 2006, so truebluefan merged my account with the one which had the name i wanted. My registration date is just a sideaffect of the merge.

:)

Nice to have a new / old member back on board Alex.

Ah... welcome!

I missed the drama, when do the cliff notes come out?

First there was Denny & that 300+ post thread where he basically stood alone arguing his point with everyone else until he FINALLY gave up & has not been heard from since.

Then yesterday there was rickyspiral standing alone arguing with everyone until he snapped took his ball & went home not to be heard from again.

Now today it was Brian, another one standing alone until he couldn't prove a point we asked him to prove & he left. where abouts or if he'll be back not yet determined.

Now I've no doubt that both Denny & Brian are nice guys that just gave up on topics that they weren't going to win. ricky, well, we'll just leave that one alone.

My point is that that's 3 posters that we may have lost. So what do we do going forward. Should we avoid any further controversial topics? Give up on any debates not Yankee related that goes longer then 20-30 posts? Or do we surrender to the head strong posters standing alone & just agree to disagree?

I know it may all sound like bullshit & I've never been a yes man to anyone. But I like this board & its not going to survive if posters keep dropping off.

Any suggestions?

Stay true to what we all are. My feelings are that some guys are built for confrontation, others stay to the facts and will move off their opinions when proven wrong. One point to consider is this board seems to have a lot of veteran posters who besides having a lot of Baseball and Yankee knowledge also have a keen sense of former and current posters. Unlike other boards who in my opinion fight to be right, we exchange info in a different way. Currently on another site, there is one guy standing alone against the onslaught of posters who continue to criticize the Yankees for signing Ellsbury, for paying so much for Tanaka etc, etc, etc. Here, if the discussion gets tense, the old bastards on this site go back to the basics and that is more fact than opinion. This board is fine, when the season starts, it will have more traffic. In closing I would like to second the motion of perma-banning 59.
