This Could Happen, Right?

:lol: OK, smarty-pants, what's the difference?

Roy was a winner who put up decent, yet not MVP, stats. Love puts up MVP stats on lottery teams.

Love = Stat Beast
Roy = Team Player

Seems rather obvious to me.

I love how you really go out on limbs. :lol: You say less than 10% chance going after a top FA? I say much higher than that due to the current contract situations, coupled with the fact that PA & Co. completely overhauled the management team. We shall see, though. It's all dog-day speculations.

My reasoning is this

As we heard from Jalen Rose, free agents do not lie Oregon with out newly increased income tax. Also, Portland may be a liable city but not one that attracts young rich millionaires as we have little night life. And, fewer teams are willing to hitch their wagon to a player that may get injured or retire in uniform after they get their big contract.

Jury's still out. It occurs to me that Roy was on a couple of non-playoff teams, as well.

Not exactly sure what you just said there, but I'll take your word for it. :)

Last I checked, Love has only played 2 full seasons with the Wolves.

He's going into his 6th year in the NBA. He has played over 70 games twice and 60 games 3x. Do he's played 2 'full seasons' in 5 years without a playoff appearance. LMA has played 7 years in the NBA, and has played less than 63 games one time (same lockout season that Love played 55 games).

Why can't people see that Love is injury-prone, and that LMA is a workhorse?

:lol: yeah, kinda sorta. The root-canal meds are just wearing off. ;)

I think more has been expected of Love, than Aldrige. IIRC, Alrdridge was called LaMarshmallow in earlier years.

Let me remind you again, though....Love was simply a suggestion...and not necessarily the point of the OP.

I think Kevin Love is the best talent at that position since Tim Duncan. Injuries has hampered his ability to prove that. But if the Blazers were able to acquire for LA straight up. It would be an upgrade IMO.

I think that Kevin Love is JJ Hickson with a jump shot and bad coaching.

That settles it, then.

I forgot to add Love is Hickson with a jump shot, starter minutes, and the refs on his side.

If they both are the same in ability which they are not, Love has him beat. How much do intangibles such as basketball instincts, IQ (basketball and overall), court awareness in making your teammates better modify the modify their overall abilities and the overall impact on the court?

we're all entitled to our opinions, but mine is KL is one of the more helpless Bigs I've seen on the defensive end and IMO having quality defensive Bigs is paramount to winning hoops. Of course he's got some other outstanding skills, but I think he'd need to be paired with a defensive monster 5 to be part of a contender. Portland certainly doesn't have that guy currently

I'd put Love way down the list of best 4s since Duncan behind LA among others

ABM, did you and storyteller take some bong rips?

PS: The root canaled tooth ended up hurting today....like, worse and worse as the day wore on. Soooo....I decided to head back to the dentist just to be sure it wasn't the after effects from Saturday's root canal. Waited for over 3 hours, but sure glad I did. You see, when the original procedure was accomplished, they "should" have prescribed an antibiotic, yet didn't. Hence, the tooth became reinfected. Long story, short....I'm now on penicillin and, for the very short term, Vicodin (Weeeee!! ;) ). The follow-up procedure will be done Friday. God is (still) Good! :)

Vicodin is of the devil. You don't trust that your faith can heal this problem?

I believe that God gave us doctors, as well as medicine. I also believe He can heal, too. I've seen it happen.

Man, like these ideas are just like totally mind blowing. Dude like...you know?

Yes, god gave us oxycontin, but weed is a sin :crazy:

As far as it occurs to me, it's not a sin to take meds prescribed by doctors....including weed. But, I'm me, and you're you.

At the virtual behest of BLAZER PROPHET (who is in the dental field), I went to the Emergency room tonight. They ended up giving me Percocet, and have directed me to see the dentist "first" thing in the morning. This saga is the absolute joy of my life.

That sucks, ABM. Hope they take care of it tomorrow.
