I've been reading some of the comments on Reddit and apparently this is common in Muslim countries because they consider dogs to be unclean. That's just what I've read though.

I don't know the story but the reaction from the owner during the attack didn't look as though he ordered it.

He was trying to get them off the guy. He even kicked one of the dogs in the head trying to get it off.

The guy deserved the attack though. He was throwing rocks at the man and the dogs. Big ass brick looking rocks. A little more backstory would be nice, but it was obvious that the owner was just trying to walk away and the guy kept throwing shit at them. Finally the dog had enough.

That doesn't mean he didn't order the attack, it means he didn't have enough control to get them off without kicking them in the head..

I doubt the dogs would have stopped walking away with their master to go after this guy throwing bricks on their own accord.

If a dog, especially a GSD, feels that it's owner is at risk, it will defend him. They are fiercely loyal animals, and extremely protective.
