As an aerospace engineer, I'm supremely interested in what kind of armor/etc he's planning on wearing so that the shock effects (that killed deHavilland) are minimized, or if whoever he's working with has determined that they will not go from Mach waves to Shock waves (which means that either nothing will happen or he'll explode).

God bless him, because I wouldn't do it.
