Do you think if we mention Cronin more in this thread the odds of him seeing it go up?C. Cronin will not see this regardless of how it is posted.

He only reads the "Meltdown Thread".Do you think if we mention Cronin more in this thread the odds of him seeing it go up?
Are you the trade checker police?Thats not possible per the CBA

Totally agree.Shaedon Sharpe
Scoot Henderson
Donovan Clingan
those are our last 3 lottery picks, those were supposed to be our future and instead they ride the bench to give minutes to Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and DeAndre Ayton who aren't part of our future!?!?
Not only that hurts the growth of our prospects but it also kills our chances in what expert says it's an amazing draft
I can't think of a more embarassing strategy right now
This is the major concern I have as well.Totally agree.
That's why it never made sense to have this current roster in July. We didn't have a use for all FIVE vets on this roster in Grant Ayton Ant Timelord Thybulle.
It's a complete failure on Joe's part that goes back to the day the Blazers traded Dame. We should have aggressively built around youth from that day.
I'm extremely skeptical we are going to see anything different from this franchise soon either.
This franchise strategic direction is a complete joke.
In fairness, Chauncey is trying to win and Scoot is rough. Clingan is one dimensional. And Sharpe is coming off an injury

Oh no. We haven't even got there yet. Let's take this one step at a time...And we're thinking that Cronin reading this thread would have the slightest impact on his plans for the team?
Lots of back hair, too, from what I hear...Can I do that? If so, I have A LOT of posts to comb through
What is your substantiation for your statement that our vets value has not declined? You guys are sure getting antsy considering none of our vets values have fluctuated whatsoever. This is cronins specialty, wait for the right desperate deal.
If y’all can’t see how well we made off unloading Dame by waiting an entire summer plus previous pressure even before drafting Scoot, you’re not looking at this objectively.
let the fake contenders choke and struggle some more.
Only Boston and OKC are truly contenders. Suns are a booker injury away from a .500 record. We’re chillin. we hold the cards. Let Cronin cook.
The value of all our vets was much higher years ago, I looked up and detailed many years worth of it in an NBA rank thread about a month ago.yeah, I'm not sure how anybody could think that the value of the veterans hasn't declined. Now, it's likely the case that the value wasn't very good to start with
but the three main vets the Blazers are featuring as a big-3 have been operating with a typical big-3's level of opportunity. They are taking more than half of Portland's shots and they get a lion's share of minutes and usage
and they have led the Blazers to a 3-6 record; about to be 3-7 in 10 hours. And one of those three wins was against a Pels team missing 4 starters and their 6th man when playing the 2nd of a back-to-back. That kind of a result is bad for the value of any members of that big-3. especially considering that the NBA already knows about those guys; knows what they are and what they aren't
Mrs HCP promised she would keep that our little secretLots of back hair, too, from what I hear...
That leaf blower she has to use afterwards makes keeping that secret difficult, to say the least.Mrs HCP promised she would keep that our little secret

Good grief. I responded to a really dumb post and you're here defending the stupidity and insulting me? That poster has been barfing out the exact same emotional nearly impossible crap in multiple threads. How about posters make a semblance of sense in their posts? According to my read, the poster had no clue what they were posting about (this isn't the NFL) which is why I responded the plain/just the facts language way I did without insulting anyone... but then you felt the need to be an asshat. Are you the trade checker police?
I'm sure the poster meant dump the vets in a trade for minimal return, not dump them in a trade that is not possible per the CBA.
Simple reading comprehension.
Dump could include expiring contracts and a second round pick. At this point there's a number of fans who'd probably be happy with that just to have one or more of Grant Ayton Ant off this team.Good grief. Please enlighten the board what minimal return you're so sure they were inferring? Jerami makes nearly 30M per, Ayton 34M.

Again, examples please! Teams have to want to make these trades, whats their motivation? Why do they want to acquire really expensive under performing players from a bottom feeder team?Dump could include expiring contracts and a second round pick. Now your being obtuse, your more than capable of coming up with that idea yourself.Examples please! Teams have to want to make these trades, whats their motivation? Why do they want to acquire really expensive under performing players from a bottom feeder team?
You're the genius here & I'm just a dumb simpleton so make clear sense so a dumbass like me can understand the logic

Sorry but no, as you were so kind to point out I'm a just simpleton. I need a real smart guy like you to explain how these sorts of contracts are so easy to get out of.Now your being obtuse, your more than capable of coming up with that idea yourself.
How do you know there are no offers, do you work for the Blazers?Sorry but no, as you were so kind to point out I'm a just simpleton. I need a real smart guy like you to explain how these sorts of contracts are so easy to get out of.
Hell, I am so dumb I'm very much on record for... A) Not wanting to acquire Grant for the Milwaukee pick which was turned into Jalen Duren, or B) Resigning him at all, let alone for the astronomical figure they did... because (get this) I thought he'd be nearly impossible to move at that figure & didn't fit their timeline. I advocated for clearing salaries, drafting well and expecting that quality FAs would want to come West when things turned positive. While the board was going nuts for trading Nurk for Ayton, I was lukewarm only because though I hated Nurk's act, I was leery of the inflated Ayton salary. But I'm glad a fucking genius like you is here to enlighten us with the many clear the salary deck trade options from teams who obviously covet Portland's overpriced/underperforming players. Can't wait for you to list them!
Again, what I'm truly confused about is how a team can "dump players when there are no offers" which is what the post I originally benignly responded to contended.

lol, I never said that were or weren't offers... look at you with the piss poor reading comprehension. The original post that I took issue with made that claim which is why I put it in quotes. Per the CBA teams can't just dump players & their contracts without an offer as that poster contended, they need another team to take on the contract(s) and send similar valued assets back... this isn't the NFLHow do you know there are no offers, do you work for the Blazers?
