The first was questionable. The second was flat wrong. Terry was furious. Although I'm pretty sure he was already in a bad mood after the players threw the ball away 36 times and let them back in the game.I didn't read the whole game thread, but that foul called on the Nurk pick in overtime was bullshit.
I think Dame shoots just as well from there as he does the normal 3pt line. Really deep threes makes it so that you have to extend your follow through all the way and stops you from short-arming it if you maintain some resemblance of your form. There's days I shoot better from two feet below the NBA line than I do at the college thing. Dame's proven he can hit that and he's done it many times before. He was set and wide-open, with the shot clock ticking down and no other easy option. With 20 on the clock, I don't think he takes that, as he shouldn't. But in that situation, it's fine.Guys, before the shot turns into a 50 foot shot and then a 60 foot shot...it was a 30 foot shot. About 7 feet behind the line. 30 foot shots aren't that uncommon, though they're obviously an extreme minority on a percentage basis. But completely unguarded shots are also generally an extreme minority of shot attempts. Someone like Curry or Lillard taking one against no defense isn't a terrible shot at all.
Right, with a WIDE open shot. You take that shot with 8 seconds left ot give you time to rebound and put back in case you miss....
Thought you were a coach?![]()

You have NBA players on your team?Guys on my teams that shoot 40 foot jumpers with time to run an actual play on the clock sit next to me for the rest of the game. Fucking ridiculous shot selection.
No, but I never implied I did, so?You have NBA players on your team?
If he passes out of that shot and Batum steals...people would blame him for not shooting..it's the opposite....if he makes that shot he's a hero..No, but I never implied I did, so?
It was an asinine shot in general, but especially in that situation.
Farther than 30. Stupid shotGuys, before the shot turns into a 50 foot shot and then a 60 foot shot...it was a 30 foot shot. Make or miss, it's a stupid shot, period. NO ONE would blame him for not taking a 40 foot jumperIf he passes out of that shot and Batum steals...people would blame him for not shooting..it's the opposite....if he makes that shot he's a hero..
Farther than 30. Stupid shot
Rhetorical question pops. No, but I never implied I did, so?

Thus the clankRhetorical question pops.
That shot was in his range.
Much farther. He's pretty clearly about 7 feet behind the line. So yeah, a 30 foot shot, unguarded. Most good/great three-point shooters would do well, on average, on such shots. Much better shot than a contested shot at a more "normal" range.
Where the fuck is Terry? I wonder if anyone on the coaching staff will say anything. He was 5 for 18 at the time he attempted that monstrosity. To his credit, he's reeled in his shot selection quite a bit this year, but tonight was a major step back. Really hope this gets back in control, because no one in the league would have attempted or dared to attempt that shot in that situation
Much farther.
Lol.Thus the clank
So you can tell it's 7 feet from the video?
But for this stupid arguments sake, a 30 foot jumper with that score at that time of the game and that much time left on the clock is a bad shot.
37.3% is average?Much farther.
Dame is an average 3pt shooter
Something for my notebook. Thank youAbout 7 feet, yes. It's fairly obviously not 17 feet.
Agree to disagree. It's a better shot than a contested one closer in. Distance is not the sole determiner of shot quality.
He was 36.4. 99th in the league37.3% is average?
Awesome...did you do this DW? Good work!
