I think the biggest problem is Dame being our best player but far inferior to Chris Paul who brings it on both ends.

I don't understand getting upset about an opinion on a professional basketball team. It literally makes no sense to me.

Sure, I'm tired of seeing Tunchi post "feast or famine" over and over, but that's because he posts the same thing in every single game thread and every single thread related to Lillard.

Getting upset because someone said we should trade CJ doesn't really compute.

Its not a matter of disagreement; its having thousands of posts with no thought or content from primarily one poster I have to scan through and I'd rather not.

Well that's just not a very nice thing to say about Slypokerdog. I mean, I know he steals like 80% of his content from Reddit, but he's a really nice guy!

So because a guy who's averaged 16.3 ppg this year has averaged 17 ppg against CJ in two games, you therefore want to trade half of the 2nd highest scoring backcourt in the league?

I had a dream the other night that Stotts was talking about a playoff series and the reporters were clowning him for not making adjustments. So he (Sotts) started rattling off all these hypotheticals and the adjustments he would make. And then all the reporters got silent like "damn I wasn't expecting him to make all those adjustments".

I'm perfectly capable, but occasionally not inclined. One of my many faults. My advice would be to be more thick-skinned. My sarcastic comment really wasn't that bad.
 
getting back on the topic, Stotts can only do so much with what he has. The players need to execute, and if they are executing the 'strategy' then yes, its on Stotts, cause its 100% wrong for the team we are playing.

outside of missing a shit ton of shots, we seem to often get good looks - they are just not going in the fuckin basket. But....on D, there are regular WTF moments doing on there, which sadly turn into a few WTF moments in a row, next minute, we're 10 down.

Clipps was always going to be a tough matchup for us, our composition seems to compete very well against next to every other team in the league, but the strengths of the Clipps REALLY show up our deficiencies.

Yes, we are a little undersized in the backcourt, but most of the time this isn't much of an issue.
SF through C we are lightish on experience and hardness and toughness. Aminu can do amazing things on D, sometimes. Plum is more than capable against just about every opponent, but DJ just shows him up.

Just a tough tough matchup. I think it's on everyone - from the coach, assistants though to the last man on the bench. Even if that 'what' of 'its on' is even just the bare realisation that we are over-matched in most instances if we dont have either out PG or SG putting up large numbers.
 
That Portland is losing is not on Stotts.....the Clippers are just better and at almost every position so far this series. What I would put on Stotts is the team identity. This roster set an NBA record for fewest amount of points in the paint.....they just don't attack. That comes from the top and the coaching philosophy.

So when the defense is designed to take away your strength and trap your playmaker, there is no fall back position to go to because they haven't done it all year and aren't comfortable with it. All the eggs are in one basket and with rare exception that just does not work.

That's an interesting observation. The obvious question is, who should Stotts have developed as a low-post option? Plums and Davis aren't very good - Leonard and Vonleh are even worse. The only real option he had, was to somehow get Kaman in shape to play major minutes. I'm not sure any coach could have done that.

Granted, he didn't have natural, accomplished low-post options but worst in NBA history is quite an accomplishment in itself. It's more about a mentality. It doesn't have to be an on-the-block scorer. It can also be finding ways to attack the basket. It's also about throwing an occasional bone to someone one the block so they can work on it even if it might not be as high a percentage play as a step back '3'....or maybe it is. Either way, the lack of any attempt at balance leaves one in a precarious position when the first and seemingly only option is taken away.

It is amazingly shocking how little we threw it into the post.

At least SHOW the other team another look. lol. Did we ever throw it down in the post more than 2-3 times a game?
