I think that we just had an off night and Boston's D was only partially responsible. I think we beat these guys in the RG on the 30th. What did KG say to Davis to make him cry? I thought it was a bit lame when Boston's starters came back in during garbage time. I'm glad Nate wasn't classless enough to do that too.

Uhhh ... Boston played killer defense. Stifling, suffocating, strangling, annhilating defense. They took away our inside game, with at least 3 help defenders collapsing on every drive, and they contested almost all of our jump shots. Make no mistake the Cs beat the snot out of us, this wasn't an off night.

As for the Celtics bringing the starters back in during garbage time, that's only because their scrubs frittered away the lead and put us back in the game; they came back into to seal the deal. But I do agree Nate made the right call by leaving the players on the floor that made the run in the first place.

The Celtics' defense has been in a class with the defense Detroit played in 2004 or the Bulls played during their second threepeat. Even though it's against my favourite team, it's still really impressive and beautiful to watch.

Portland was just out-classed. No one should have believed Portland was at that level yet. Portland just needs to go on beating all the non-Celtics/Lakers teams.

Yes their defense was amazing from what little I could stomach watching. Don't you think most of that is effort though? Intensity?

It's that, and skill. Garnett has been an all-world defender for years. Allen I've always felt was an underrated, solid defender. Pierce is also a solid defender. Rondo is a very good defender. And Perkins is an effective presence in the middle. They have a lot of defensive talent, and they fly to the ball constantly.

I know that they are good defenders, but they looked like a swarm of killer bees. When a team is up that many points and still putting out that effort it isn't just skill.

I hate losing anything. I don't like it when a contestant on Wheel of Fortune solves a puzzle before I do. If I walk into a bathroom at the movies, I want to get out of there before another dude that went in at the same time (no gay jokes please) I used to stick playing cards between the leaves of my grandmother's kitchen table because I had to win no matter what. If I have a cart full of groceries, I try to get them all on the conveyor belt before another customer, I will even give them a head start. I am NOT afraid of Chuck Norris either.

Ok, before anyone gets the idea that I am some kind of idiot...well maybe that is too late...but anyway, the things I just posted are true. It took effort on my part to get that way, I was raised by three women and was quite the wuss when I was little. I got embarrassed like our team did tonight so many times that I had to teach myself how to be the way I am. I would get hurt and cry like a baby into my middle school years. I had to work on it and tell myself it didn't hurt until I reached the point now that I can take a stapler and staple my arm and laugh it off. (I do it to impress the ladies)

I have to say that I am a bit worried about how this team handles pressure. People say Roy is so steady and doesn't get flustered but I don't see that in games like this. Oden is the one I worry about at but somehow I think he will grow and get over the nerves sooner than later.

You could see how the Celtics were getting under the Blazer's skin. I didn't see the whole game but I would have liked to see one player on our team laugh at them. Just laugh and say something good back at them. It can't be that hard.

I am just afraid that we might have too many Doug Christie/Cliff Robinson/Nick Anderson type personalities on this team and I hope that I am dead wrong.

Maybe it can help us. But we need to watch out. Denver is playing well. And did you see Utah pounce on Toronto? Utah is getting healthy again and they area beast of a team. I can see them recovering to get the division this year...unfortunately.

Very True. But living in Utah I have seen the Jazz go through much worse losses in every season (on the road)
and still have a great season.

Last nights game in Boston was expected. It meant absolutely nothing. Life on the road in the NBA .

I couldn't agree with you anymore about Bayless. Nate needs to find a few minutes for him most games.

Yep, I like what I saw from him tonight. He is FAST and can play D, and he can drive, qualities that are needed from at least one of our PG's, especially against a team that can play D like the Celtics - in the playoffs is where Baylesses talents will be badly needed in the years ahead, glad we have him! Nate needs to get him some minutes every game.
