If I'm LaMarcus Aldridge I'm not objecting to Portland's draft or acquiring Thomas Robinson, but I am looking at the front office and saying, "You know this isn't even close to doing it, right?" Then I'm keeping an eye on the remaining $8.8 million of cap space and watching carefully how Portland chooses to spend it.

I agree with Blazer's edge; but I think the Blazers got something up their sleeve. I know Olshey is definitely ready to compete next season.

This is my frustration.

Aldridge wants one thing, but the good of the franchise is probably something else

You don't need to hit home runs with every transaction, just get a bunch of singles and very few strike outs. If CJ and TRob are both rotational players than we have done fine for now. Keep building assets and eventually we can combine them like the Clippers did to get CP3.

Our starters were very good last year before they got hurt and exhausted from too many minutes.

I agree and it's absolutely the step in the right direction; but we are fighting Aldridge wanting to be in his hometown area and close to his mom. There needs to be a serious deal that proves we are definitely in it to compete now to pursued Aldridge.

I just have it in my head that Olshey will be trading for Deandre Jordan, and that that will be the move that placates Aldridge.

Wishful thinking, I know, but I'm going to hold onto that until next week comes and goes...

So you would be happy with getting Jordan? I'm just not liking him too much.

Forget LMA, Olshey needs to make moves that placates the local journalists. That's really what's important.

I guess the other way of looking at this is asking yourself if we had a middle of the road bench last year how many more games would we have won (keeping in mind we probably wouldnt have tanked at the end) and would that have been enough to get out of the first round. I doubt we would be having this LMA conversation if we made it out of 1st round.

There is not one deal that could have been made that would have been close to filling the need that LMA was asking for. Every scenario was discussed in detail on this message board. And every option had a downside. I think Asik was the most popular option, but obviously we tried. (Possibly still trying)

Other than that I don't see a huge space eater who is an animal on the boards available without actually trading LMA.

OH I THOUGHT THEY WERE TOTALLY DONE WITH BUILDING A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM BY SIGNING THOMAS ROBINSON. GREAT FUCKING INSIGHT THERE.

Shows what you know, we didn't sign him, we traded for him.

If there is any doubt that he wants to stay (proving so by signing an extension), then trade him. Trade him wherever. Cleveland, Milwaukee, Toronto, it doesn't matter. What matters is that we get the best package from that team to rebuild, because losing him is going to hurt us badly.

If LA wants to go to Dallas, OKC or Houston, then he can travel there on his off days. He either wants to be here, or he wants to be somewhere else. Those are his choices.

There isn't any need to do anything extra to appease LaMarcus. Try to build more talent on this roster if it happens then great if not then we can cross that bridge when we come to it. The last thing I want to see the team do is make a desperate move to try and win now. Thats how the Cavs ended up with a terrible supporting cast around LeBron. They tried to bring in veterans to win now at any cost but they ended up with marginal talents on overpaid contracts and zero young assets.
