I don't want to come off as some sort of "know-it-all", but the people who live to achieve the best sound possible pretty much all agree that Bose does not produce a great product, especially at its price point. Most would argue they don't even produce "good" sound. Keep in mind these are people who use tools to measure frequency and decibels to obtain "flat frequency response", etc. So they are fairly fanatical. No audiophile here, but I do believe for the price you'd spend on Bose you can do better. Especially with some of these internet direct companies like
Aperion Audio (which is actually based here in town) or
Axiom Audio. I've dreamed of one day owning an
SVS sub. I guess what I'm trying to say is look around, there are a ton of options out there. One more thing,
