Sergio Rodriguez: 11 minutes, 2 points 1-4 shooting, 0 assists, 0 boards
Jerryd Bayless: 9 minutes, 4 points 0ff 1-4 shooting, 0-1 from downtown, 0 assists, 0 boards

Game 1 - Phoenix/Portland: Blazers 105 - Suns 100

Oh yes, FAR bleaker!! Miller only wishes he had the flair and panache' Sergio possesses when he zips those passes to the opposition, Jerryd only wishes that he could hit a single shot from downtown, instead settling for stupid drives to the hoop and the boring predictability and uninteresting foul line.

We are doomed! Doomed I say!

maris... thats why kpee is getting fired and mark w is getting hired

we wont be passing on guys like lawson or the stud dallas pg or solid young pgs cause hes in love with bayless or a euro who is years away.

Lawson was picked at 18, iirc. Our pick was at 22. Hard for KP to "pass" on a guy taken before us. And before you start pimping Mark W's drafting skills, iirc Lawson is the only pick the Nuggets have kept since 2005. So you could've had Roy, LMA, Jack, Sergio, Oden, Rudy, Batum, and all the Euros, or you could've had Lawson and Axel Hervelle.

And you would've taken Beaubois at 22? So that he could've been our 3rd-string (4th-string after Miller signed) PG? Resumes can be sent to One Center Court, Portland.

MIXUM if they way you post on this website is a reflection of how you live the rest of your life with such negative energy...i seriously pray for you man. its the playoffs and we're ahead 1-0. can you atleast just wait till the offseason jeeze. if you have kids or when you ahve them if you can ever get a girl to engage in sexual contact is this how you are gonna teach them to look at life? glass half empty no matter what? or in your case completely empty? man just keep quiet

Re: Blazers did exactly what i said they would...

I said way back in December when Greg got hurt, the BLazers need to trade for a guy like Hayward and resign him for the next few seasons. Everyone killed me on here and screamed.... "no we have joel and the gimp... we are set." As i told you then... you trade for a center since joel wouldnt be back anyway and getting the center provides insurance for the gimp. It also got us to the playoffs. Its just amazing how so many on here said we didnt need a trade. L M A O

lol... well pryz is done in Portland and Greg looks to be next. Thank god we got camby.:tsktsk:

We didn't trade for a guy like H-a-y-w-o-o-d (not Hayward you moron)...We traded for Marcus Camby. He is twice the player BH is and brings so much more to a team. Haywood isn't a leader, not much of a vet, isn't nearly as good on defense or the boards or passing or shooting.....So you're pretty much %100 off as usual.

P.S. Please stop posting.

This is true. Mixum's thesis has always been, for the last couple seasons, that we needed to make a fucking trade. All his criticism of KP this season was that he was afraid to make a trade. Once the trade was made, Mixum rejoiced. And Mixum was right. We DID need a trade. That said, I still love that you call Haywood Hayward, mixum. Hilarious.

And coincidentally we used the two players that you love so much ;)

There are no worse and misinformed writers than those who work for "The Sporting News"

I thought Miiller would have one good year left in him when he signed. That was a stupid assumption on my behalf. I get caught up in age like the rest of you. Bottom line is we have an excellent PG for another two years. (Look how J-Kidd is playing after all his injuries)

What happens in 2013? Why worry. Hell we could pick up another 34 year old vet who wants to win a championship, or we could find a 2nd round sleeper, or Bayless, Koponen, or Mills could emerge, or...........10 other scenarios.

We need to stop trying to wrap everything in a perfect little 10 year package. Because in this league when 2-3 players can make all the difference in the world, teams change quickly. I am thrilled to have Camby and Oden for the next couple of years, as well as Miller and (whoever). With Roy, LMA and Batum, things are looking pretty good. And I say that believing we will lose this series to Phoenix.

This a very healthy and very good attitude to adopt -- especially for the Blazers management, because trying to project out much more than a year or two is fraught with too many variables to really be much use.

That said, it sure wouldn't be all that bad to try and add a longterm impact player at point guard if they can in the next year. The Bayless, Koponen, Mills, "let it bake," approach doesn't seem like an especially strong play.

everyones wrong.... except the posters here lmao
There is no national beat writer who knows the Blazers better than most of the posters here. Not one.

I never thought I'd type this but: "PWNED!!"

National "Beat Writers" are those who cover their home teams and then send articles to a National newspaper, such as The Sporting News. The Oregonian's Jim Beseda had been that person for a long time, and Beseda knows more about the Blazers than most of the people on this forum.

But, I think you meant that "national 'sports' writers", such as those who cover "all the teams" for media outlets, such as The Sporting News, don't know as much as the people on this forum. That, of course, is true. It's not possible for them to do so because they have to know a little about a lot (all the NBA teams), where we know a lot about a little (just the Blazers).

You are correct, sir! I definitely mis-typed (and mis-cast for that matter).

Boy my hat's off to a "sportswriter" (who the heck is Eric Freeman anyway?) who can write the following paragraph and pass it off as analysis:

So what does this mean for Oden? Camby can't play a ton of minutes at his advanced age, but he would likely remain the team's primary center in all situations. Oden, then, would be forced to fend for any minutes he can get, which would be even more difficult if the Blazers don't find a way to move Joel Przybilla (who has a $7.4-million player option for next season) to a team in need of a shot-blocker.

Camby can't play a ton of minutes because of his age, but he's going to be the team's primary center in all situations? Oden will have to "fend for any minutes he can get" over a 36 going on 37 year old PF/C and a guy who's knee recovery makes his ability to play any minutes next fall questionable?

Nice find MIXUM. You must really scour the internet for such "inciteful" (not insightful in this case) pieces to show your love for "your" team.

so you really think the blazers will break teh bank to please oden???? hahahaha you are nuts.

i get the sense allen could care less about oden. its kpee who worships that waste of space.

all you need to know about greg... he check sfor updates on his computer when teh blazers are playing. I wonder if his mom gets NBA tv? Maybe thats his excuse for missing the playoffs. I mean he spends most of his time in INdiana rather then Portland. Sounds like this guy is really into the Blazers!

Chances he resigns here... less then 30% IMO.

Please BUMP this when oden leaves

The spell correct feature has to work overtime with your posts. 'The' is not hard to spell.

Anyway, how would anyone know what Paul Allen's feelings are with regard to Oden? He rarely speaks out about anything and I've never heard any comments about Oden in particular.

Our PG position is far bleaker than it was this time last year? :biglaugh:

Aside from your reference to 2 select games over 2 seasons (neither of which obviously had any impact on us actually GETTING TO the playoffs) and your ignoring the 164 games that DID get us to the playoffs, Jerryd Bayless will never be our PG of the future and Andre Miller will actually retire before the future.

That leaves us no PG, and no backup PG.

As bleak as it can get.

Says the tool who consistently uses single-game +/- stats to prove a point.

I know. It's damn shame KP traded Jarret Jack

Completely misreading the tea-leaves. What it means is that Joel Pryzbilla dynasty is over, which is a real shame - because there are not many players one would like to see succeed like Joel.

Perfectly said. Repped.
