I really hope we invest in a good big man coach this summer. The thing about Robinson is that he's really quick. He has an explosive first step so he can pretty much get around any defender. The problem is that he doesn't have the footwork or the finishing moves to capitalize on the move to get open. That can be remedied. He just needs someone to work with him.

What do you mean "about time"? Go back to the threads when we first acquired him. I was very positive and excited, but realistic about his potential. Just like when we got Jamal Crawford and now Mo.......I had actually watched them during their careers and knew exactly what to expect from them......good and bad.

Yep exactly. Meyers needs to quit thinking and just play. Meyers kinda plays the way Keanu Reeves acts, like they are always trying to remember what they are supposed to do next.

Coming out the draft I pegged him as the second best player behind Davis. I thought he'd be like Griffin just because of his motor and athleticism. Oops. He might not be that but he will become a solid NBA player-- something you can't say definitively about Meyers.

I wanted him badly in that draft. I was hoping he'd drop to us. Things worked out for us because we ended up getting both players.

One thing I really like about him is his passing ability. Not only can he pass off the dribble, but he's always looking for the outlet pass after grabbing a rebound. If there's an outlet the ball is advancing 60'+ up the floor in under two seconds. And if there isn't an outlet he starts moving the ball up floor while waiting for a passing lane to develop, rather than standing and waiting for the back court to clear out before handing off to a PG.

It seems that every time I see him play he has at least one beautiful outlet pass. I wasn't able to watch last night's game, but it sounds like he delivered again!

Agreed. He has good fundamentals for his position, and obviously has decent court awareness given the passes he's making. It just appears he's over-thinking on the court sometimes. In another 2 years he'll be a heck of a player.

He's had problems at multiple stops remembering plays. That is where the low BBIQ stuff comes from

He's a young athletic freak who has tons of potential and a lot to learn......oh yeah, and we gave up what amounts to 5 cases of Gatorade to land him. Let's just sit back and enjoy the ups AND downs and hope what we saw last night is just the beginning.

He actually is a pretty damn good passer. His outlet to Nic last night after a tough def rebound was "Love-esque".

I don't agree. I've seen some very skillful passes from him. He's raw, but I've seen Batum make plenty of careless passes too. When Nic makes a good pass, is that skill or luck?

He has rushed some passes in the past. The whole team has for that matter. But I also remember him making some nice passes early on too. Bottom line is his passing is not an issue IMO. Hell his BB IQ is not an issue. He just needs playing time. When he slows slows down he is fine. When he gets the ball up top his teammates need to move to get open so he does not feel the need to shoot or drive as a last resort. If they stand around, bad things happen.

TRob had 0 turn overs last night, and had 1 "assist" that was nothing and one long pass here

Yup - and unfortunately most everyone does freeze when he gets the ball at the top of the key. It's obvious that Stotts put him in this position, as we routinely see the ball being passed to Robinson in the same spot in pretty much every game. Stotts needs to figure out what to do with the other players once that pass is made. If the guy in the weak side corner moves up to set a screen for the weak side wing they could dive to the basket for a lay-up.

Sadly I agree. Either Watson or Will should be the back-up PG.
What makes things even worse is that it seems CJ plays nearly all of his minutes with Mo, which is really hampering his ability to get involved in the offense. Stotts has got to stop playing CJ and Mo at the same time.

I agree. They do not play well together at all. The bench has talent. If you add any of them to the starting line up they are fine. But together as a group.....it gets ugly. Terry is trying different things to find that winning combination. I hate to put all the blame on Mo because he plays better with the starters too. But so far it has not gelled. Playing Will at PG won't help though.

Nate has been dissed for years for not changing his offense when Roy was injured yet Stotts does the same thing in regards to LMA and gets a pass. It's really hard to change the offense when a guy gets injured. Do you go with what all the players know or try to accommodate the one guy who is coming in to fill in for the injured player? It's not easy to change the playbook in February.
