19.7M Whether this shuts the door on Scherzer, who knows?

...I'm sure the Tigers saw this coming because it was an arbitration ruling...and I still like their chances of resigning Max.

...love to see him on the Yanx though.

So would I Ron but you're looking at 7-8 years between 25-30M & I just don't think the Yankees will go there. As it is they've already got a few albatrosses that they're dragging around for the next few years. And after the next 3-4 years you'll be stuck with Scherzer as another one. JMO.

IMO, I don't think he'll get 7-8 years...I'm thinking more like 6 years @ $26 Mil per year. That would take him to the age of 37.

Oh I don't think he'll get it either but IMO I think he & Bor-ass will hold out as long as possible in trying to get it.

...of course, that's Boras...but sometimes holding out too long can sometimes work against you, he's also misread the market on several occasions and by doing so, he ended up costing himself and his clients a lot of money.

I think Drew & Morales would agree with you.

Bump tix prices $10/seat, lol!

^^^ yes, because the Steins don't care about that money.

Yes well Rick was worried about the money, so I offered him a solution. But correct, if the Steins sign Max they wouldn't bump tix prices because they don't count on/depend that revenue. They are more focused on the larger world wide audience watching games on TV/ cable/internet.

Do you think more people watch the Yanks from the stands?

...I'll answer your question the same way as before and will ask you the same question as before;

...No, neither I nor anyone else EVER said stadium money out weighed outside revenue...that was NEVER the point and you know it...the actual point was your inane claim that the money taken in at the stadium didn't matter. (to use your own "10%" figure, we're talking about $50 Mil or so in revenue)...again, do you think the Steins would be willing to throw that money away and simply open the stadium gates for free and also forego concession sales and souvenir sales etc?

...sorry, but do all the accounting gymnastics you want, but the "fans in the stands" DO matter.

I never said throw it away...I said they don't depend on it. Its inconsequential to how they manage their business and create their operating plans. Guys I'm sorry but this is how billion dollar companies run. Never said I was or was not a fan of these practices, just saying this is how these people think and make decisions. Feel free to believe otherwise, its a pointless argument.

No doubt the Fans in the Stands Matter, in many more ways than one. Not only for Ticket and concession sales. If the Fans were to collectively all do the same thing, such as boycott games, not only would ticket, concession, parking lack of revenue bring the Team to its knees.

Keep in mind, the Fans would also then (in boycott), quit watching the YES channel, and discontinue buying Yanx merchandise, THO-that will never happen, Yank Fans are more honorable than Yankee Owners and other Admins.....

We all know no one is going to throw Kershaw money at Max, I only hope Max and Bor-ass figure this one out soon. As much he will never see more than a 6 year, maybe 7 yr contract, (if a team is that stupid to throw anything above 6 years at him).

The Bums want him too, but they've already made it known in some arena's they won't give him Clayton Money neither...!

...translation; so if the Steins are not willing to "throw it away", it's evidently NOT "inconsequential" in their eyes.

...TAH DAH !!!

I cannot help but think Bor-ass has become a greedy monster, who is looking out for HIS OWN best interests, and not the players. Holding out is backfiring on these players, and if borass has Max holding out, well, I expect then Max will see an entire new series of offers, for much less than his initial offers.....

Then hopefully, Bor-ass will be exposed as the fraud he is. The turd in MLB's punchbowl...! I'd love to see all of Borass' clients fire him....and no future players approach him for his ridiculous approach to the game.

Again, were opening the same can of worms, we did quit some time ago. Rising Greed, or Commodities, of players. Where the Heart goes out the window, and the cash too....!

If anyone is ever feeling down or depressed in any way they should just read this thread because the thought of $50M+ being unimportant to ANYONE is not only laughable its ridiculous.

Tah day nothing. You're so busy trying to be right.....ah forget it, its not worth the electrons.

Hey I'll make this easy.... Logging out. Catch you guys sometime during the season. Try not being such dicks to other new folks that have views that don't agree with yours.

...Oh please, stop acting like a martyr and pretending that you're somehow taking the high road here.

and I thought we all knew and decided, we will all agree to disagree on occasion, as such is healthy...!

Remember: "If you and your boss always agree, then one of you is not necessary"?

Apparent Cliff Claven (Tom) didn't get the memo.
