Timberwolves tried to get Batum

I think the consensus is that Batum has the potential to be very similar to Scottie Pippen. You'd be crazy if you thought Pippen wasnt worth a #4 pick in his prime.

Scottie Pippen was pick 5? what are you saying?

Batum shoots 47 from the floor, and There is about ten people that I would have over him on that list.

Side Note: Remember when we were mocked to take JOE ALEXANDER!!!!! I would hate life if we drafted that guy.

But your right, he is underrated in that draft class.

Name the ten.

(@ Minstrel) You, sir, are a total homer.

Derrick Rose
Kevin Love
Brook Lopez
Russell Westbrook
O.J Mayo
Eric Gordon
Danillo Gallinari

Ok seven that i would take 100% over batum

On the fence:
George Hill
Michael Beasley
Roy Hibbert

Shenanigans!!!

Dumbshit AssClown has no idea how to play Nic.

My thoughts are that KP rejected the offer because he is holding out hope for that all star player, and might need Nic to get it done.

I also wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Blazers floated that rumor out there to increase Nics trade value.....Not that I don't think the team loves him though

The Bulls would not have traded Pippen in his prime for a #4 or #5 draft pick.

The Bulls wouldn't have traded a prime Pippen for a #1 pick, except in very rare years like when Shaq or Duncan were in the draft.

As much as I love Batum, I'm not going to envision a Pippen-like ceiling (as I think Pippen, once defense is factored in, was a top-25 player of all-time), but there's only one player in this draft that I'd rather have over Batum: Wall. Cousins is the only other prospect who I think might have better potential than Batum...but he also has more bust potential.

Fuck Gallo, Mayo and Gordon. High usage chuckers with no defense, questionable shot selection and ball-hogs in the case of Mayo and Gordon.

I was thinking the same thing!

Ouch. Glad you aren't our GM.

Chad Ford is reporting Wes Johnson has moved up to #3, and that would explain why they went fishing for Batum. Behind Johnson, the talent level drops off at SF.

Yup. Lots of 3/4s and guys with questionable handles (Aminu), questionable defense (Babbitt, Hayward) or questionable motor (George -- who is a true 3).

Lots of guys who might be Tweeners too. Babbit played 4 in college, but no way he will make that in the pro's at 217 pounds.

Yes he is. When we played small ball, Nate sometimes used him at the four, but he's an NBA three. Nate's talked about him as a three and he has played some there when LA was in the game.

False, Cunningham did not play any SF last season. Take a look at 82 games stats. He didn't play SF in college either. He has played as much SF as Oden.

Martell played more minutes at PF than Dante did at SF. Dante is an intriguing bench player but simply does not have the body to play extend minutes at any NBA position as would be required of a starter.

You know, the least you could do is provide a link and be completely accurate. Per 82games, DC played a very small amount of SF, putting up a PER of 0.0 and allowing opponent PER of 27.4. How is that not starter-worthy?

Lol. 0% of his minutes at small forward ... so I guess that means he switched on half of a possession or something.

Babbitt played the 3 in college.

Yeah, I really don't get where all this "Babbit's not a 3" talk comes from. He sounds like a prototypical 3 to me, and one I'd like to have. In fact, if Martell were jettisoned in a "move up to the early teens" deal, and Babbit were drafted to be our backup 3, I'd be pretty happy with that. #9 (where the mocks have him) however is too high for me.

Batun = Pippen? You're not only drinking too much beer, BeerBoy, but smoking too much weed as well.

We'll disagree big time on this. (respectfully)

While that is nice and all watch the game. They might not have logged it, but I am sure Dante played SF quite a few times last year. Some of those lineups might have been blurry to figure out who was playing what position, but he did play SF some.

I guess I'll be alone in thinking that maybe that wasn't the best call. I like Batum too, but if either Cousins or Favors will be available at 4, and I think both have higher ceilings than Nic. Especially considering his recent recurring shoulder issues, which I fear may end up chronic. Or, if we were still looking at Parker, I imagine the 4 would be able to get him. Also, if Minny were trading for Batum, I bet they'd be willing to part with Brewer if Rudy were included (which we pretty much all agreed we'd do).

I guess I hope that KP gave them an "I'll think about it" rather than a "no way in hell"

You are not the only one!
