I know i know, everyone is totally frightened by Bynum not only because hes injury prone but because hes a knucklhead. But, with the 76ers getting Noel, Bynum is available.

If he pans out, this team is a top-3 Western Conference team, if he doesnt, well then we're screwed, but thats where we are anyways.

Bynum is done in Philly. That was a bad deal for them.

I want to disagree, but really, it's go big or go home at this point.

Offer Bynum the entire amount of cap space on a 3-year deal and see what happens. If the team doesn't get better next year and make the playoffs, it will be bye bye LMA, and yet another rebuilding effort.

If he can stay healthy (I know, I know) he moves the needle. Pekovic doesn't, IMO.

Well, the Blazers did just hire some wiz kid. Let see what NPH can do.

I can't believe they gave up Jrue. He had possibly the one of the best contracts in the game and is a 23 yo all star. Dumbasses

Looking at Bynum's career he's basically a lock to miss 25-30 games a season

He's an injury prone dipshit

Stay.

Away.

I would be shocked if Bynum decided to come to Portland, even if we did offer the biggest contract. Doesn't seem like a podunk Portland kind of guy.

Hasn't he said he's all about the biggest contract?

Exactly. I don't think center is so crucial that we need to blow the whole nut on a guy who can't stay healthy. I'd rather go after Tony Allen and Dalembert. If the goal is to win now and try to keep Aldridge happy, you want to strengthen the bench. I think this team makes the playoffs with even two decent vets on the bench this season. The funny thing is, if we still had Miller and Crawford coming off our bench, I think we win quite a few more games. This team needs defense and rebounding. Forget swinging for the fences, we need to plug some holes.

Offer him a three year with the third being a team option. It's a two year gamble. If it doesn't pan out; we lose Aldridge and bynum's salary for a full and proper rebuild. If it does pan out; we would be conference favorites

That's not a bad plan. Why do you think he'd go for it though? This is a guy who hasn't been healthy much. I would bet he wants some security in what will most likely be his last major deal.

I just don't see any team willing to give him more with the new cba. If he turns out to be a bust; that would cripple any franchise that took the risk.

If he gets more; than more power to him for suckering a franchise.

Good call. Repped.

I think a team would be foolish to offer him an 8 figure contract.

If there aren't a lot of teams willing to lock up a big chunk of their cap on him, the price will go down. It's a huge risk that he'll even play again, IMO.

It's better than Dalembert, Kaman, or Gortat.

I agree. With the exception of Dalembert years and years ago, none of those guys have been able to significantly help a decent team be better.

Assuming Bynum is healthy when we sign him, I'd be willing to roll the dice and see if he can stay even moderately healthy while making lots of money as a Blazer.

Ed O.

Bynum makes a contender. I'm firmly in support of us signing him.

Yeah I'm on board, 2 year max deal we can offer with 3rd year team option. Asik or Splitter would probably be my next favorite targets if available but they are no where close to the impact player of a healthy Bynum and we'd have to send Houston an asset or hope the Spurs don't match. With Bynum its basically 50/50 chance he plays, if you win the gamble we have a chance at a title, if not we don't. There isn't any other move that gives us close to a 50/50 shot of being a contender.

Sign the knucklehead Bynum, use the 2.5 mil room exception on another defending big, sign Jermaine Oneal for the vet minimum and get a 3rd PG with our final roster spot.

Lillard/CJ/FA
Wesley/Barton/Crabbe
Batum/Claver
LaMarcus/Leanord/FA
Bynum/Oneal/Whitey

Great point.

Mark this date down!

First time I fully agreed with Mags.

I agree with Mags as well, but i wonder if some dumb team with more capspace will offer him more?

If Aldridge is getting traded no matter what, do you still like Mags idea?

Depends on what we can get for him, yes if we can get a guy like Blake.
