Cj 's not going anywhere as long as Dames here, or, approves of the both of them being traded.

Except for CJ, Dame has seen every single player he's played with 5 years ago leave.

There are only 2 active players in the entire league who have stayed 10 years on their original team.

CJ is on year 8. I don't see him making it to year 10.

Dame's a big boy. He understands that unless you're a franchise player committed to your team, the meter is always running.

I never would have guessed 5 years ago that we'd still be talking about Dame and CJ and how much they overlap and how much sense it would make for us to trade CJ for a useful forward. It's insane that we're still having the exact same discussion.

We seem to be playing much the same with CJ as without him and certainly have more players involved. I think the best way he can help the team is in what he can bring back.

fentress is right about paying a lot of money to our three guards and that means either trent jr or cj mccollum should be traded

and hes speaking about john collins, not zach collins, as he thinks blazers should trade nurk & trent jr for him

id rather trade cj mccollum, cause trent jr has potential to be two-way guard and hes much younger... that also allows us to improve other position(s)

No way someone actually listens to that moron

nurk have beef with him, dame is not a fan either

but hes right about the guard thing
Not much to see here though since they have Capela so no need for Nurk and they have Bogdanovic and Huerter so no need for Trent.

Collins would be a good get, but I don t see a way.

Trent is a wing, not a guard.
he can play both positions, but we use him as cj mccollums backup and if were going to continue doing that, im not sure it would be good idea to pay him a lot of money

theres few options: pay him a lot of money, keep him as a backup for cj mccollum and if he continues his development, were gonna trade cj mccollum (during or after the next season), or we start him at small forward and trade jones jr or maybe he declines his option, so we play trent jr and little at small forward and hood as cj mccollums backup... considering olsheys love for our backckourt, the later option seems pretty realistic

lillard/simons
cj mccollum/hood
trent jr/little
collins/covington
nurk/kanter

What about a trade centered around CJ for Dray. Supposedly Dame has pushed for Green, they share the same agent and it’s a position of need. RoCo and Dray might be nice together defensively.

Why would Golden State do that? Green is the heart of their defense and has great offensive chemistry with Curry. They're at their best when they go small and he plays point-center for them.

Because we said so.

Both Green and Siakam's teams have too much invested into guards for CJ to make sense for them. I keep saying that we can probably get Randle from the Knicks for CJ and Rivers too. I know that he doesn't have as much history as the other two do and it is risky because we might be buying high on Randle but if he's just finally put together all of his skills with his size and athletic ability he'd be amazing to have.

So simply. CJ for Randle and Rivers. We would save a bunch of money now and next season but probably want to extend Randle in the off season with the idea that he'll be Dame's number two guy for the rest of Dame's career.

Golden State has something to hold onto. Eventually Klay comes back and their young guys develop. They might be able to make another run.

Toronto is one breath away from blowing it up. Lowry isn't the same player anymore. Kawhi was the piece that made that team go. But I don't think they're going to trade Siakam.

I'm wondering if Jimmy Butler could be had if the Heat continue to suck. CJ/Simons/Collins for Butler. Go sign Napier who I think is still a free agent.

Dame/Bazz
Trent/Hood
Butler/DJJ
RoCo/Melo
Nurk/Kanter

yea but for who though? I feel like we won’t get equal value for cj.

I feel like pascal Siakam would be the closest thing to being equal but that trade with the raptors would be kinda complicated unless they traded Lowry somewhere too

I just don't see Toronto doing it but maybe I'm wrong... Siakam is probably a better fit next to Nurk than the guy I've been pushing (Randle) but I have a new Randle trade.

So I always run trades through this checker and through ESPN's trade checker. I don't really care about the projected win increase/decrease but Hollinger's model/algorithm at ESPN says that this trade gives us 7 wins and doesn't help or hurt the Knicks.

The Knicks in this trade get two proven commodities that work well together and can play with guys like Toppin, Barrett, Rose, Quickley and Bullock this season but it also lets them keep Toppin, Barrett and Quickley next season, whoever they draft and leaves room for one max player. That's a good mix of young players and established players. We might have to guarantee our pick to Houston and then thrown in our 2023 first rounder to get them to include Robinson due to his youth, price and upside but Nurk is a more sure thing when healthy.

For us this trade would mean contending for a chip this season. I really do think that. Rivers is the backup guard we need, this does kind of leave Ant out and if they wanted him as part of the deal that could be done. Randle and Robinson are a really good front court to complement a perimeter of Dame, Gary and RoCo. This off season would be really busy for us because we would need to try and extend Randle, Robinson and RoCo, match whatever Gary gets offered and make decisions on Zach, Hoodie and see if DJ stays. (Ntilikina would be bought out because we do only have one extra roster spot)

Most trade you won't get equal value especially if trading away a player like CJ. But in CJ you got look at we got players to replace him that's already performing well enough for us continue to win. Plus you need take back expiring contract and maybe get a draft choice out of the deal. This give money enough to play in the free agent market.

No CJ trade is going to happen until/unless CJ shows how he played at the start of the season is how he'll be playing long-term. Without that, no team is going to give star value for CJ. So we should wait on all the trade proposals until McCollum is back and we see how he plays.

Unlikely, therefore, that a CJ trade happens before the end of the season.

I'm just not seeing a great candidate right now.

We need someone of equal value to CJ at either SF or PF. Unfortunately there just aren't that many star wings right now, and they have to be on a team that either has too many star wings and wants to upgrade their guard position, OR they're doing so badly that the star is disgruntled. I don't think anyone fits that bill.

Harden was the best option.
