Time to trade CJ

You don’t do any deal without Quickley.

Knox is on the Stanley Johnson path — zero value right now.

I think Quickley would be a deal killer with the Knicks as a second asset with Randle. I also don't think we need him as much as we need a guy like Rivers.

Why Quickley is the main cog for me:

The sample size of Randle’s play - is it sustainable without Thibs? Up until now, he’s looked like a Harrison Barnes clone his entire career. Thibs is THE reason for his breakout.

Quickley or bust in any CJ deal.

As far as sample size goes Quickley is a rookie that other teams have never seen before who is playing twenty minutes per game, mostly against backups.

Agree with what Wiz said. I think the value depends on the teams targeted, and if it needs a 3rd team to make the most sense. I don't think as a whole the same teams would be interested in both, where you could easily say, for example, Milwaukee would pay X for CJ, Y for Trent, one of them is more. I think it's more, Milwaukee would have more interest in CJ, a team like Memphis, Atlanta, N.O., etc. would maybe have more interest in Trent.

Besides THE GF the Bucks dont have anyone that can create a shot when needed. Middleton is that kind of player. CJ would be a good get for them if we could swing a deal that made since for us. Holiday or Middleton would be interesting.

Rivers at best is a throw in.

Neil would be smart to keep CJ if it’s Randle/scrub.

If CJ were on the market there would be plenty of packages that would be better than Randle/filler.

CJ for Holiday would be a dream trade. It might even be the rare trade that makes both teams better. Holiday could take over as starting SF and assume PG duties while Dame is off the floor. I think that move would single-handedly make our defense elite (when Nurk comes back).

We do not NEED Trent to score like CJ. We need trent to score 20-22 pts be a sniper and Play defense. Dame usage rate Increased by 5% without CJ and so did his scoring and assists. Dame is our playmaker and scorer, Trent can be Our Klay. We saw enough that CJ and Dame don’t work together at highest level. Trent Jr is a no brainer next to Dame

I didn't say we need Trent to score like CJ. I'm fine with trading CJ if we get better value and/or better fit in return. Otherwise no, regardless of how good Trent is or isn't. We have Trent and CJ right now. Even if Trent were Michael Jordan, I still would want proper value in return for CJ. You don't just willy nilly lose CJ because you love Trent and we (possibly) went on a hot streak.

Also, evidence is IMO that CJ is at the moment still significantly better than Trent. Trent has really horrible rebounding numbers even compared to CJ. That's not a good sign. He gets fouled much less than CJ which is hard to do. He assists 1/3 as much as CJ. He is a less efficient than CJ.

Defense is the only thing and it's not clear that he is some great defender.
