Tired, just tired (1 Viewer)

For me, it's been a year-long meltdown. (After the Nurkic injury, I skipped the last month and playoffs.) Apparently for Gramps, it's long-term too. But for you homers, you'll say, "It was only one game!"

Gramps uses the word "tired" while I say "bored." Same thing. Nothing. Ever. Changes.

I was specifically talking to lamlor. I don't like the "it's only one game" excuse either.

Even though it's technically true, I also don't like the idea that "we have a better record than last year at this point" crap. They should be better, especially after dropping some easier games in the year.

That post didn't have anything to do with strenuus, I simply changed my curse words to strenuus because I realized I was overreacting a bit and that is what my last post got corrected to. I was just editing it for him.

Well quit that shit. These Mods need something to do. Dont suck the gravy away!!!!

Shhh, I thought we all agreed the gravy sucking fun with HCP's wife last night was going to be a secret.

Holy hell you are gonna fit in just fine round here!

For the record, I didnt make the HCP joke.

Yeah you can’t complain, I got called arrogant, smug, stupid, and conceded(I think that was the last one) today, I mean my posting style did:)

The green font rule is lame, if you can’t pick up on sarcasm that’s your problem.
You are too new here son to be creating waves........ maybe you should step back and just see how things happen here at S2. Might benefit you in the long run.

It's not a rule at all. It's simply something that some do to help others understand their sarcasm. Personally, I prefer to let my sarcasm speak for itself most of the time.
I assumed as much.......I've seen the way you dress. #BAM #FuckYoGreenFont

I don't care that he mocked me or whatever, I just don't like that he can be a fucking strenuus and only my post responding to him gets flagged. It's one thing to joke around but he's been an strenuus for years, I should be able to call him out on it.

There I edited it myself.

He criticized/mocked/insulted your posting style and substance (essentially calling you an apologist for the team). You criticized/mocked/insulted him personally. That's the critical difference. People are allowed to attack what you post here and you're allowed to attack what they post. You aren't allowed to attack each other personally, though.

It us frustrating to see the same results from basically that same players. It is what it is though and am glad Neil took his medicine this trade deadline. We got under the tax and all of the bloated contracts will be one year shorter in a few months.

I like Turner but his signing just killed us. Players like him are best when it is a good fit on a cheap contract. Think Evans in Memphis, Turner when he was in Boston, or any of the guys that San Antonio or Golden State seem to get productuon out of. Turner would play better elsewhere and has set Harkless back since there are less minutes.

It has been nice to see Napier step up, Collins get minutes, and a full year of Nurk. Nice but not spectacular .

I know it looked that way which is why I said I overreacted but you don't know or understand the history between us. He definitely meant it as a personal insult.

Saying "whenever you post" is a little bitch response because he can't defend what he said. All I'm asking is that if he's going to attack me at least be able to back up what you are saying.

If we hadn't signed Turner, Meyers, and Mo, I wonder what they would have ended up with?

Say that we did not sign Turner and kept Mo and Leonard after they accepted their qualifying offers. Mo might have performed better last season but would not have gotten much with the cap crunch. Guessing 6M tops. Leonard would not have been retained and would be hard pressed to get more than the minimum last offseason.

Hard to say on Turner. He still might have gotten 14M per for 4. Lots of crazy contracts that offseason.

I'm using this post as an excuse to do a stat dive; honestly they probably all get MLE money without Paul Allen.

Are We Better Or Worse with Them? A TED Talk

Meyers: Neither better nor worse because he doesn't fucking play (Meyers plays in 6% of total team minutes... roflcopter)

Mo and Turner: these guys have a lot of minutes, and we have overall negative points vs opponents while either one is on the floor.

http://www.82games.com/1718/1718POR1.HTM

In the 33% of team total minutes that Mo is on the floor, we're 91 points down, and we only win 38% of the shifts he's played. Yikes.

Turner is -35 overall, but we've won 51% of the shifts he's played.

In this particular case, Mo is really bad (which explains why he didn't play for long stretches of the season). Turner is... well, he's higher risk, but high (okay okay less low) reward.

http://www.82games.com/1718/1718POR2.HTM

The main lineup of Turner with Dame, CJ, Nurk, and Aminu wins 64% of the time, compared to 53.3% for the Harkless variant without Turner, and is +47 versus -11 for the Harkless variant.

Turner with the starters is much more effective than Turner off the bench. Mo is ineffective period.

http://www.82games.com/1718/1718POR5.HTM

The obvious problem is obvious: Our SF position is weak, but our PF position is weaker. Aminu is playing out of position, and we have no effective backup for him (Collins is doing good work out there, so maybe we're seeing the emergence of Aminu as stopgap PF).

In fact, I'd go so far as to say I kind of like Turner starting, and if we got a legit PF next to him at SF, we'd probably be really good until the bench comes in and ruins it.

The OregonLive folks better catch on quick that this place is quite a bit different than where they came from. What flew there does not fly here. We razz each other, yes, but we (mostly) don't hit below the belt or tolerate personal, ad-hominem attacks - unless it's directed at Denny because he deserves it :)

You want to play in out sandbox, you need to up your game.

It doesn't really matter how he meant it, what matters is what he actually says. If his attacks are limited to the content of your posts, that's within the rules. Going outside the content of someone's post to attack them isn't. If you simply don't like him, you're always welcome to ignore him. There's even a forum Ignore function which will cause that person's posts to become invisible to you.

All I'm asking is that if he's going to attack me at least be able to back up what you are saying.

People are allowed to attack your posts whether or not they "back up" their opinions. From a good discussion standpoint, obviously, it would be nice if everyone backed up their posts well with some combination of logic, evidence and/or stats, but that isn't something we can enforce via rules. You don't have to engage with people you don't respect enough to talk to.

How 'bout them Red Raiders?
They put the pain on Blaine, but not fully on Sedro-Wooley.

Before signing those guys, we had $25M in true cap space. No MLE. That money was offered to top tier FAs who declined.

If you kept Crabbe, he'd be our starting SF. If not, it'd be Layman.

Plums would likely be our starting C, re-signed.

Our cap situation would be roughly the same, today, as it is today.

Bingo. It takes guts to post here. You make a bad take without backing up what you say and you get called out. Sometimes I think we can be a little harsh but I'd much rather have that then some board where people just post touchy-feely, unrealistic crap. Hell. That is what r/Ripcity is for.
