"TJ Maxx" Players

Listening right now to the Blazers vs Bulls podcast with Erik Gunderson and Sean Highkin, and yesterday's podcast focused on what they call "TJ Maxx" players, aka, players that will be paid max or near-max money, but most certainly don't deserve it based on their actual on-court contributions. Whiteside and Howard don't make their list, which (so far in my listening) includes:

• Harrison Barnes
• Chandler Parsons
• Ryan Anderson
• Joakim Noah
• Kent Bazemore

as well as some borderline inclusions who probably won't get significantly overpaid, but very well could, like:

• Rajon Rondo
• Al Jefferson
• Luol Deng
• Festus Ezeli
• Jeff Green
• JR Smith
• Jared Sullinger
• Jared Dudley

Right at the 32:40 mark, they get to Allen Crabbe.

Hah--great tidbit on Dion Waiters (a definite TJ Maxx player): Basketball Reference actually lists "Kobe Wade" as one of his nicknames. I wonder if he gave that one to himself.
