But having over-the-hill, grossly overpaid players on long term contracts is. Do you really want a 34-year old Andre Iguodala making $14 million? Yeah, I know at that point he becomes an expiring contract, but what good has that done us in the past (RLEC)?

BNM

It depends on how good the team was while he was 30-33.

Denver also had nothing in the way of post options, however. Why would he have/why would we want him to have, the ball in his hands more here? I want Lillard and Aldridge getting touches first, so he'd have a similar issue of Lawson-Lillard.

Like it or not, we have no true distributors on the team right now. Which means, that we have to get some players at other positions who are great passers for their position. This doesn't mean he should be running point forward, it simply means that he should be taking pressure off of Lillard. And it's not like he crosses people over and runs around on the perimeter jacking threes, when Iggy drives good things happen. He just didn't happen to have many open lanes last year because everyone sagged so much off of Denver's players.

Pretty much this. When your signing a player thats 29-30 to a big contract there is always the possibility that they will fall off at the end of that contract which is why they are usually signings that will help now rather then later.

I don't see the Blazers going in the direction of Iggy. It doesn't seem consistent with what Olshey's been doing.

Trade Matthews and cap space for a sign and trade for Iggy.

New starting line up:

Pg: Lillard
Sg: Iggy
Sf: batum
Pf: Aldridge
Center: Lopez

Key reserves:

CJ, Barton, claver, drob, Leonard

I can definitely be fine with that!!!!

The Iggy ship has sailed off into the sunset.

I agree we always need better passers. At every position. But when we go with Dame, CJ , and Batum we will have three guys who can pass, dribble, and shoot on the floor at the same time. Whether you think it is too small or not is a different argument. But I think the offense will flow pretty well.

The one thing that is really appealing to me about Granger is having a good chunk of money in next year's free agency. I'm not saying we could get LeBron but it would open a lot of opportunities especially especially if we do decide to move LMA

IMHO, if the Blazers could add a player like Corey Brewer as a defensive wing, who can stroke the 3 as well, we would be set

Corey Brewer has a career 3PT% of 29% and shot 29.6% last year on 5.5 attempts.

Ouch!
