I DVrd the game and am watching it now. The crowd noise was cut down significantly. The kings did that whole world record noise thing this year and it was set at 119 decibels. It was over 122 decibels in there tonight. Antonio Harvey said it was the loudest he's heard it in his 15 years in portland. It was insane. Same crowd will be there Sunday and I feel pretty good about this series being up 2-1

Thats really impressive. 3dB is about twice as loud to the human ear.

Really? Watching on TV, I was very disappointed in the home crowd. They didn't sound or look like they were doing their part. I figured it was a bunch of rich entitled bandwagon fans sitting at 100 level who could afford the exorbitant ticket prices, but couldn't muss themselves up enough to be into the game.

Guess I was mislead. ;)

Anyone who didn't wear blazers gear to the game should be shot. :MARIS61:

TV must have cut the noise down, because it was deafening in there last night. I've been to every home playoff game since 2009 and to start the game it was every bit as loud as the other playoff games. Also, the WE ARE RIP CITY chants were insane. Actually, it could have been more intense had Houston not controlled the majority of the game. Aside for the 16-0 run, they always answered back quickly right when the crowd was ready to go to another level.

3dB over the record is crazy. In the stereo world 3dB requires twice the power or twice the speakers. With the same ammount of people that means everyone was twice as powerful than the world record crowd.

I posted in the game thread how quiet the crowd seemed, but that was while I was watching the ESPN telecast. When I switched to KGW, the crowd seemed noticeably louder.

If they hadn't adjusted the crowd noise, we'd be posting that we couldn't hear the announcers.

Great point, but I may have liked that scenario better than the muted TV crowd.
