David Ortiz is currently sitting at 472 career HRs. This year his numbers are 6/18/217 with a .298 OBP in the FINAL year of his contract that call for $16M. He does however have a team options for 2016 & 2017 for $10M each.

At 39 years old & being off whatever he was on there's no way he's reaching 500 HRs this year. So....here's my wish, he ends up with around 490 while hitting in low 220s & not only do the Red Sox not pick up his options but no other team signs him.

Yeah I know, I've a bit of a mean streak.

Saw an article yesterday on players suspected of ped use but not actually proven. Some of the names like Nolan Ryan, and Ricky Henderson were w bit of a surprise but what really surprised me was that "Big Sloppi" was not on the list. It will be no loss when that scumbag leaves the game.

Which red sox family member wrote the article this time?

Their is no one in MLB anymore by the name of Ortiz, only a David who plays for the Bosox, who once went by that name, but officially changed it to Shrek.....at least that's what Hammer told me........:bgrin:

As for Nolan, I've driven by his old Farm in Alvin, TX, quit a few times, when I was working In Lake Charles. As Nolan said, when once asked how he managed to pitch to 45, He said: "I eat my own beef daily, red meat has kept me healthy", yet he did have a triple by pass, not longer after retiring.....

Nolan's Ranch looked like it held easily 10,000 heads of cattle.......

and, with His staunch stance on PED's, I believe Nolan, when he says His PED use, if you want to call it that, was strictly Beef.....

My thoughts on Nolan Ryan was that the guy was a freak of nature. In the case of Henderson it was noted that he was a team mate of Canseco and McGuire who knows.

Yep, Ryan was a Freak of Nature.......I've never seen anything in Ryan, to even question if he used PEDS.......

and like you said, seems like damn near a majority of ball players, who were on the same Teams as Canseco or McGwire were often dirty, except Nolan; perhaps a few others.

I can't see Nolan even giving Jose the time of day, in the dugout or in their personal lives. Nolan stood for all that was good in the game, not defending PED users.....The Marshall on the Mound, and Clubhouse......!!! Hell, I bet Jose was too intimidated or inhibited by Ryan to approach Nolan with PED's.....

Hell, I can't see Nolan even accepting a Dinner Invite from Jose without thumbing his nose at Jose.......and a few others.....!

A friend of mine used to say Ryan could throw a ball through a car wash and it wouldn't get wet. First time I saw Ryan was in the '69 World Series and was astounded by his speed and raw ability. Reminded me of a pitcher the Yankees had named Ryne Duren. Big dude, wore coke bottle glasses hitters were intimidated when he pitched. All that goog pitching the Mets had and let go of in the seventies. Can't remember the dumbass GM of the California Angels who stated Ryan was a .500 pitcher. The Angels could never score enough runs though he kept them in the games. Yep the man was a freak of nature alright, 7 no hitters, no one will top that.

Not to mention Michael the amount of 1 hitters that he also had. His down fall with the Mets was that as fast as he was he was also just as wild.

Someone was stupid enough to put Ryan's name on a suspect list? Death wish.

Always remember that scuffle with Ventura, Nolan was one bad dude that day.

Yeah the way he kept punching him in the top of the head was comical.

Wasn't it Buzzie Bavasi, the ass who traded Ryan. I don't believe it was the Prior- GM; Harry Dalton, who was instrumental in bringing "The Ryan Express" (with Tanana to boot); to play in Anaheim; within a parking lot from an LA Express/Freeway.

Bavasi was often too outspoken for His own Good, or, rather Bad.....!

Even when edited anyone with half a brain would still see that Ventura STILL got his ass whooped.

...I can't believe that guy really believed what he was trying to sell...like I said, some people can talk themselves into just about anything.

:twothumbs:
Exactly, considering the source a Pale Hose Fan, spinning a yarn of lies, and deception.....the ass clown who posted this on YT; is over the top desperate, but then what White Sox fan isn't??? Ventura was pummeled. Plain and simple for the World to see.

Robin didn't take Nolan down neither, the fkng pack and parade of both Teams; (like a Cattle Herd trampling), isn't that much obvious...!!! I guess not to a person who lays awake all night for 22 years, thinking and hurting himself in the process; dwelling on Ventura's mistake in charging Ryan.....this guy has got to be a head case.....

I love these quotes from the article, noted below: (and thanx for sharing 59)....
bipartisan interlopers is a lot like turning on your sprinklers in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Bottom line: Nolan the super-dominant male in a Rangers uniform while Ventura still looks like he could have gone on to do an extended run as a roommate on "Friends." :biglaugh:

Here's my animated version of what happened: a very one sided fight on the mound......
