Going to be in Tokyo for a weekend in late April.

Suggestions on must-see events/activities from those that have been?

Go to the big buddist temple. Its pretty dope. Tokyo is extremely difficult to nagivate and get around. Did a boat ride down that main river, pretty fun. Tokyo Tower was whatevz.

Oh yeah, not all toilets have toilet paper, you're supposed to bring your own sometimes. And there are a lot of squat toilets that are hard as fuck to use. Make sure you learn the japanese phrase for "Where is the western toilet"

The cool thing is to go to the shops, electronic stores, and people watch IMO. Especially in the crazy districts with all the people.

I imagine watching the people in the nerd area would be a site to see.

Harajuku is pretty nuts.

IMO, Japanese women are the hottest asian women. So many long legged hot girls.

I might be going to Thailand in late-spring (May or June), so I was literally just thinking about posting for recommendations, when I saw this post about going to Japan. Any suggestions?

And Tokyo for a weekend? Tell me this is a long weekend or part of a layover? That's a lot of travel for a weekend.

Been there... Do not fall for the people that ask you to see their silk or emerald stores. Over priced tourist traps that take your dough!

I went to a few awesome places, so I will get the information for you

Buy a 64oz beer in a vending machine.

Go to some bar where Japanese "Sarari Man" (Salary Man) gets wasted. They get shitfaced.

I'd recommend getting out o Tokyo as soon as you can and check out Kyoto, Hiroshima and if you have time, Hokaido in the north.

Yea we're going to Palawan in the phillipines, but found a nice layover in Tokyo

Akihabara would be your electronic shop mecca.

Roppongi is the place to be if you like westerners.

My advice: get on a train, take it to a random stop, wander around.

The farther north, the better. The opposite direction from Okinawa. Yuck.

True. Hokkaido is nice. I've never been to Okinawa, so don't know about that.

Be sure to spend some time with the people of Fukushima. They radiate hospitality.

I want to go on the 'Lost In Translation' experience - Tokyo Park Hyatt.
