Am I right in saying that he hasn't signed an extension? Does that mean that he's a FA at the end of the season? Because, if so, I would be all in favor of going after him. I admit, I enjoyed a lot of the new offense after so many years of grind-it-out Nateball, but I think I'd be happy to go back to grind it out if we were actually relevant. Thibodeau took a team that was a scrape-into-the-playoffs team to one that had the best record in the league. I want me some of that.

This is the Blazers. Fans have to call for a coaching change for at least 3 years before it happens.

He did sign one already.

Apparently the guy never signs anything, he just has his agent do it. Dunno how he gets away with it but he already agreed with the Bulls, just because he didn't sign it doesn't mean anything.

Huh. So when I heard some announcer say he hadn't signed an extension, what he didn't say was that his agent had?

EXCEPT, there's THIS:

As of last week, Tom Thibodeau still hadn’t signed his new contract extension in Chicago, even if it was reported a long time ago that the Bulls coach had agreed to a four-year deal worth $20 million. We’re just wondering if Tibbs is waiting to see what Derrick Rose looks like when he starts playing again before he inks his new deal. Or, if he’s just leaving his options open to see which jobs open up after the season.

Doesn't sound like Money is an issue to him but Environment/Fit/Players.

So if we can't just throw money at him why would he come?

This is all steaming from an article came out that talked about Thibodeau just not signing stuff. Doesn't mean he didn't agree to the contract and the contract is void because his name isn't signed on it but its just something he was quirky about.

Like when Boozer "agreed" to the Cavs contract?

I love the way he gets his teams to play hard. We expend NO effort on defense.

Well, I guess that means he hadn't signed before. He would've had to present himself as a colossal jerk not to have signed after obviously coming to agreement. But it's weird he didn't just do it last year. That's kind of jerk-y in itself.

Of note, I think coaching definitely needs to be addressed. No use getting all these players if they aren't put in a system to succeed and contribute. And I mean on defense in particular. Let's see how we do with someone other than Kaleb at the helm, and possibly a true center. If we see no marked defensive improvement, Stotts should be gone.
