Let the games begin.

I think Larry Miller is planning to turn in early tonight. After all, he had to work a full day all week long. He's tuckered out.

He should be burning up the phone lines contacting every player that is jumping to accept the same MLE that most every other team has.

Every FA out there will be considering Portland.

Huge tv market
Huge endorsement potential
Great weather during the season
Incredible tax situation for them

The only was Portland is going to get a player worth anything is to trade for them. If the player has other options, Portland is probably not in the mix

Doesnt look like any of the major free agents will make a decision until at least Saturday... after Lebron meets with various teams and makes a decision.

Yes, indeedy. If the Ferry hasn't arrived, Larry should act as the tugboat.

More like the drunken fishing boat that meandered accidentally into the shipping lane.

Camby had options and choose the Blazers . . . how can that be?

People are acting like everything is going to happen all at once. It's gonna take time, and it will be boring.

2 reasons

1. 10.5 million per season for 2 years. 21 million guaranteed total. This for a 36 year old center with injury history

2. Camby was traded here. He didn't choose to come. Now once here it's different. You see the fan support and the city. He is also 36, not a young player that likes the NBA lifestyle.

We are in somewhat agreement although I would add Ptd has a respectable coach and is a playoff team on the rise . . . which has to come into play with some FA. But yes, Blazers need to go after players with cash and the draw of playing on a winning franchise . . . not the young player looking to party.

On a slightly different note, anyone wonder if there's going to be a Hedo-type Renege, or a Brand-level "Treachery" this year?

I dont think we see to many verbal agreements tonight. We might see a few throughout the next few days though.

Let's hope even with KP gone we're able to weave a story as to why someone would want to sign here.

Clean air! Fresh ocean beaches! Pristine mountains!

No?

The utter dominance of the blazer board at S2, perhaps?

The games are beginning. I expect Portland to go after (and get) LeBron in FA.

Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge is trying to use Rasheed Wallace’s contract in trade talks, a move that would allow the Celtics to keep their midlevel exception, league sources said.

Wallace has yet to file retirement papers, so the $6.32 million owed him next season and $6.79 million in 2011-12 would come off a team’s books after Wallace is traded to them. They could do a deal and not take on his money. Ainge is trying to use the Wallace contract to bring back a power forward or center to replace Wallace and the injured Kendrick Perkins.

The Celtics could then use their midlevel exception for a different player. Several sources believe that Ainge’s target is Orlando’s J.J. Redick, who is a restricted free agent.

Boston has strong interest in Brad Miller in free agency and could try to acquire Dallas center Erick Dampier.

Brad Miller would be perfect for the C's!!!
