No Lillard. No Simons. No Payton. No backcourt to speak of. And Phoenix is red hot and rolling. Cover your eyes.

Maybe.

A few people suggested this last game and he did less than Little.
I was one of those that predicted that he would go off last game and the opposite did happen but he should be fairly inconsistent at this point. I think he's capable of having a big night against any team but I would expect that big night to come when at least one of if not both of Dame and Ant are playing so if he starts to get hot the other team can't blitz him. That's not the case tonight so I think it's less likely to happen but he's special so I'm still in wait and see mode. For me he is the main attraction tonight though.

I don’t disagree. I’m just not trying to put too much on the kid, expectation-wise.

Yeah, I'm just hopeful. You'll notice I don't go off on how disappointed I am when he has a bad night. I just like seeing the special stuff he does and look forward to when that gets more consistent. If that's soon cool, if that's later in this season that's also cool, if it's next season or the season after that then I'll still be cool with it. The one thing I don't want to see is him get discouraged and stop trying to do the special things he's capable of.

Games like this are how you build a playoff ready bench....Popovich would play a roster like this against a good team often in regular season games and rest his stars. This throws the rookie in the fire early.
One of the biggest complaints I had in the Stotts era, and I was more of a Stotts supporter around here than most. Great teams have to develop a bench. Even if they lose games, it's needed to keep starters fresh and bench confident come playoff time. Stotts would get the team a 3 seeds but totally exhausted, thin rotation, no counter to traps, and depleted as the playoffs start.

Tex Winter used to say he liked it better when the scrubs were in for the Bulls, because they really ran the triangle right. I think we saw true ChaunceyBall last night, and I'm a believer!

I thought Chauncey-ball was just a fairy tale
Just a rumored, hyped defensive scheme
Dame's prime would be wasted
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams

Then I saw the bench;
Now I'm a believer!
Their defense
Was out of its mind!
I'm in love (oooooooh)
I'm a believer
Chauncey-ball leaves me so satisfied!

The league has so much talent today that we might see coaches, systems and strategy become more important.

Even tanking teams like the Jazz, Kings, Hornets, and Wizard have some very talented starters. That wasn't the case 15 years ago.

Teams with two stars and crap role players like the Lakers suck. 15 years ago that wouldn't have been the case.

Absolutely brilliant.

Do you seriously think the Jazz are tanking?
